    Default DIY Chiller ( ICE and ROCK SALTS )

    Na think ko ni nga DIY chiller and wala pa nako na try, I will try it soon if naa time.

    Main idea ani is ang Rock Salt and ICE. Rock salt mixed with ice will drop the temperature mka prolong sa melting point sa ICE, Im not sure if mka notice mo pero same procedure ni siya sa kanang Ice Cream baligya sa sidewalk.

    If ma setup na ni siya make sure lang na e cool down sa ang water sulod sa FILTER e shut off sa, then maybe e cool down sad ang tank...

    Use ice bucket para sudlan sa ice and salt and the filter ... then tightly closed.

    Thermostat ( very important! ) will control sa on / off sa filter para mo stop ug deliver ug tubig sa tank, if maabot sa desired temp, that way when ma stop na ang filter mo cool down nasad ang naa sa filter... then if mo warm balik ang tubig sa tank mo on balik ang filter giving off cool water sa tank nasad, and the cycle goes on.

    Disclaimer :
    * Im not sure unsay behaviour sa filter if bugnaw na kaayu ang tubig sa sulod.
    * Wala pako kahibaw if mka apas ba ug pa bugnaw ang ice / salt setup sa continuos running sa tubig sulod sa filter considering PLASTIC casing mostly ang water filters (opt: for stainless steel box as mentioned below,I was thinking mka apas somehow since mo drop ang temp )
    * Maybe dugay ni siya mka pa bugnaw if warm ang tank daan.. if pa bugnawn maybe mo pas2x.
    * Im not sure how long ang ice mo stay maybe a day or 2?...
    * Im not sure if naa thermostat available para sa setup above. (DIY nasad)
    *maybe ang Gushing cold water mka daut sa fuana kay it would be a sudden gushing of water from the outlet , I was thinking maybe di lang ipa flow maybe e stay put lang ug isa ka place.
    * Theory pa ni tanan heheheh!!

    Positive / Negative CC is appreciated

    Updates :

    pwede ra dili filter.. either stainless steel container enough ma balance ang in and out sa tubig then e dip ang small water pump same process flow sa filter ...

    flying fox or siamese algae eater? (SAE) these are two different algae eaters...well, flying fox tends to eat more on fish food...hehehe
    regarding sa chiller, this is uncontrolled, it is better to have a 29 or 30 degrees steady temp than to fluctuate from 25 to 29 drastically... ma stress fauna nimu ana.
    but you have mentioned a thermostat which is good, para ma control.

    this reminds me of ice cream, flavor of the road. hehehe

    great ingenuity my friend. thanks for sharing.

    @toothdoc

    bro lyle, your tank has been a living example of how easy and rewarding planted aquarium, it may not look right for you in the first place, but karon, nindot na kaayo. patience is also a key to success.

    @markykoi :

    yeah required ang Thermostat dyud Sir... para ma control and ma tagaan sad time ang filter mo cool down sa na stock nga tubig during sa TURN OFF state. so if mo saka nasad ang temp mo turn on nasad ang filter giving off cold water and lowering the temp sa incoming nga tubig. balik nasad sa cycle.

    I think mka pa stable ni siya sa temp this way.
