hinuOn...they ordinarily use forks and knives, but what another person is comfortable with is no one else's business.

Saying that you should eat Canadian style because you are in canada is wrong but the kid being punished is maybe escalated not only because of the eating habits but of table manners also .

As wat i understand in the article, Canadian usually eat with fork and knife they are not custom or use to eat with fork and spoon. Basin naihas lng to ang person incharge in Lunch Monitor labi na ang principal racist ra kaayo. It's not right to say Your in Canada Eat like wat Canadian do so meaning if your in Philippines Eat wat Pilipino pipol do kanang kinamot. I think some Canadian eat also with fork and spoon. Sakto ra jud ang gibuhat sa parents moreklamo.

If you live in the western countries , it is normally KNIFE and FORK . Spoon is reserve only for sauces and soups . Nothing is wrong in teaching kids who are growing up in these countries but telling them what they cant do is wrong specially if it is something CULURALand RACIAL.

iewww, thats gross. Who does that? I heard Filipinos live in trees.

On a more serious note, it happened, there is no damn reason for the whole damn Philippines to go up in arms. Stay in your damn seats. No one got shot. All this dumb outcry is making Pinoys look worse. Our f**king country is in s**t, but lets make sure we keep our pride and get an official apology! Pride is your downfall Philippines! ... you take what you can, you scramble for crumbs, but don't insist on anything better from your own leaders!

Anyway, it reminds me of an incident here in Philippine soil. I got to know an exchange student (ROTEX).. He was from Japan, and he was scolded by a teacher for drinking soup the way it was done in Japan, that is not by the use of spoon or whatever's been taught to us in fine dining.

He held the soup bowl in his hands, and drank it like we drink water (with matching noisy slurping sounds--> they say this will show your appreciation, making sounds while drinking it) , the teacher got mad (I don't know what subject it was, or it was lunch or I can't remember the details..), he was made to stand in the corner.. He complained that was how they did it, and the teacher told him that is wrong and that is bad manners and wrong etiquette in the table etc.. hmph...

Different people, different culture, it's difficult to get along with everyone that's for sure..
