dli man tawn na sa modem i i configure...goto Network Connection...right click "properties" adto "configure" nya "advance" and choose "connection type"

and FYI: thats the rate the data can flow across your lan...the speed the file ultimately comes from your modem depends on many things including the speed of your interntet service

same here...nag upgrade ko sa akong net connection from leased line to vsat...since wla pko cisco pix firewall..isa server sa ako gamit as firewall & proxy. krn pag try nko connect sa cable from VSAT RCST router (cross configuration) going to my 2nd NIC sa ISA server..dili man nuon mag work..pero ako gi-testing ang cable sa ako laptop..working man mkagamit ko sa vsat..krn pag check nko sa 2nd NIC (3com) 10mbps lng man nuon...isip nko basi mao ni ang caused ngano dili mag work ang VSAT sa ISA..message error nya no cable or network unplug...basi tungod sa iya speed...dili ko sure pero mao ni ako suspetsa...ako plan krn try ko mangita update driver sa ako NIC..basi mao ni solution..ambot lng dili ko sure.

mate make sure nga ang duples configuration sa interface auto, or depende sa imo gusto nga settings, usahay mangud dili magkaproblema kung ang duplex setting sa interface dili magpariha.

    OT:
@mbvales: i read that you are looking into Cisco PIX firewall. I suggest you go for Cisco ASA 5500 instead. Almost same price with PIX but with added security functionality. Do check their site.

HUBS doesnt support FULL DUPLEX... hubs are multiport repeaters and doesnt segment a network... better use SWEEETCH tapos affordable pa jud.

gamit nako diri sa house... 1 DSL router and 8-ports switch ... 3 computers...

if you use a SWEEETCH all workstations will not suffer from slowness because SWEEETCH segments LAN... pasabot mu create sya ug ka-ugalingon nga COLLISION DOMAIN.. kung naa ka 8 ports nga SWEEETCH, every port is a unique COLLISION DOMAIN..

Proof na tinuod na based sa akong experience.. naa me 3 computers...
1st computer playing online game - RAN or Star Craft (BattleNet)
2nd computer downloading and uploading files from an PRIVATE FTP server (Run by indivduals who want to share files faster... mu samot ka paspas kung ang imo FTP site is FXPable... unsa man ng FXP? - File eXchange Protocol. When transferring files between two remote hosts using a FXP, the maximum transfer speed does not depend on your connection (e.g. 56k) but only on the connection between the two host, which is usually much faster than your own connection. Because it is a direct connection you will not be able to see the progress or the transfer speed of the files.)
3rd computer download japun gamit ang Bearshare or Torrent client (Azureus)..

Kani 3 computers wala mu suffer ug slowness sa ila gipangbuhat nga buhatonon! LOL! Pasabot OK ra kaau...
