    Default Resolution Vs. Visual Enhancement

Hola, mga fellow PC gamers.. Just wanted to ask about your opinion on the matter.. I'm a gamer who cares about smooth gameplay but I also want to play a game with all the bells and whistles turned on.. So I'm stuck in a sort of crossroads.. Ang native resolution sa akuang lappy is 1440x900 and I'm currently playing Dragon Age:Origins.. Right now, I'm playing the game at the native res with everything on, very high texture details, 8xAA.. Yeah, In some parts of the game kay smooth siya.. I did a FRAPS check and saw that the fps was at a 25-30, the playable res.. Not smooth but playable (I think that 60 is the sweet spot right now, but I think dili sad ko kaabot nasad ana, hehe),, If I remove the visual enhancements, kay mu saka siya to 32-36 but luod na sad kaau kay jaggy kaau ang details.. So I though of trying the game at a lower res.. Ni move ko to 1280x800.. Ni nindot ang fps averaging at 35 and with all visual enhancements turned on BUT murag ni grainy man ang graphics and dili na au shiny ang effects sa armor and such which I can see if I play at native res..

So I want to ask you guys, If you were in my situation, what would you sacrifice: resolution or enhancements? really need your opinion kay naglibog ko if unsay pros and cons on each side.. thanks..

25-30FPS is decent already for smooth gameplay..

why not have it set to 1440x900 then lower some graphic settings like your AA, instead of 8xAA, set it to 4xAA instead. play around with it.

It's simple really. The higher the resolution, the better things will look, regardless of other graphical settings. It simply puts more pixels on the screen.

As for smooth gameplay, 60 frames is not important. What is important is constant FPS. 30FPS will look great, but going from 30-60-30-25 will be notice.

Hmm, thanks sa inyung opinions about the matter.. By the way, I read in an article sa PC Gamer na enhancements have higher priority over resolution.. They did give good justifications.. ^^
