Such good news don't come very often. Apil ko ani...for sure...bisa'g cellphone camera ra ang ako'ng equipment.
Just a thought though: isn't photography a form of art? How do you quantify that and consider something as "standard"?
Just like a guitarist who's playing in a gig band: would there also come a time where TESDA would also certify guitarists/singers/musicians? Or painters? Or sculptors?
Isn't that the purpose of your portfolio so people will know your competency? And now the government wants a piece of the pie even in photography? Naunsa naman ni ato gobyerno... tsk tsk tsk...The Philippines has become a pool for international markets for skilled workers and now even Photographers are needed abroad that is why, TESDA is setting the minimum skills and qualification standards for the photographer to get certified before he is allowed to venture into his new photography world, in this case photography on board cruise ships.
That phrase "before he is allowed" is mejo disturbing... or maybe it's just me.![]()

I hope they iron out clear guidelines on this.
take note of the word skills. art and creativity cannot be measured, but at least you have to have the skills required in order to be certified. Pro's and would-be pro's can benefit from this and also for the consumers. Professionals do need to have a set of skills to do the job.
This is a great news.....
gi share lang ni nko since nakabasa rapd ko ani..para makita pd nko unsay point of view sa mga photographer dria..
