Two views: can cheating be healthy for your relationship?

He Says:

I'm not saying cheating is good, but it does have its good sides. One, it may help a guy realize what a great thing he has by almost totally screwing it up. Lots of guys who stray once - and are overcome with guilt -- immediately appreciate their girlfriends a lot more. The more underrated benefit to cheating is what a wake up call it can be. Cheating can be a real eye-opener to just how unhappy you are in your current relationship and give you a necessary shove to move on.

She Says:

I think I'd smack my man if he tried to tell me that it was "good" he cheated because it helped him appreciate me more. Cheating is far too disrespectful and potentially devastating to use it as a tool to sort out your relationship uncertainties. If you really have doubts, its better to make an official break than to screw around on the sly. You shouldn't have to go to this extreme - and hurt someone else - to see that you're unsatisfied. Cheating isn't good for either party. Ever.

FYI- these are opinions of other people not my own. In all honesty - I've never been unfaithful and I don't have any plan whatsoever to be unfaithful anytime soon. Thanks.

If it was you who started and nurtured the relationship, then why on earth would you cheat? You are not cheating anybody else but your self.

Making the right wrong won't always give you a better right at the end.

in my opinion is really depends on how the person looks at it.. diffrent people have diffrent prespectives.. for example if you fill a glass with water half way.. is the glass half full or half empty?

so in my view is good and bad

good because it's fun to do..
bad because gasto kaayo..

the guy's not saying cheating is the path to appreciating the relationship more. what he means to say is that there are people who cheat who "realize" in the long run how close they've come to losing one of the most precious, if not the most precious, thing in their lives; needless to say there are men who do not realize anything at all. of course a man shouldn't cheat for this purpose. a man shouldn't cheat for any purpose at all. but well, it happens.
