Halogen is ok. Its cheap and very easy to replace. Just remember to white balance your subject if your using manual WB. Most cameras can auto WB the scene anyways so I see no problem with using them provided you give ample time for the camera to adjust automatically (a few secs ). Of course when you have different sources of light then you may have a problem.
