Yes you are correct in that statement.

Most are already going to Hell due to the Original Sins, the "Good News" is Jesus gives you freedom from that. Which path you chose is your choice. But I think you understand the concept enough to figure out what happens if you ignore that salvation.

Yes there is a sin that can be inherited. It Goes back to the Fall of Man, all the way back to the garden of Edan. Sucks but that is life, this is one of the reasons the blood of Christ needed to be shed so we could have salvation.
