i am not quite confident with some of the texts found in the bible either. but then and again, the gospel of judas is another challenge to our faith. or is it?

No need to PM. Here are the people I questioned, but can't exactly remember when since I had these questions lingering in my mind for a few years already. 1. Fr. Butch Señoron-previously assigned at Maslog, but presently in Carcar; Fr. Mike Hisoler, at that time Parish Priest of DAS, Toledo City (dunno if he's still the parish priest); Msgr. Gerardo Jumao-as, school chaplain of Andres Soriano Memorial School; Rey Nadela, former Seminarian now working at Citibank Ortigas; Mr. Vicente Quijano (sadly, he's deceased).

What was your question and what was their answer?

What is there really to comment about Gwynhuever's post? She doesn't to discuss it here - and that is good actually. This is not the topic to do that. I would gladly offer a reply if she wants that at the RELIGION forum. Before that, I need to know what she think and know about the Galileo affair. Then, discussion can progress further on.

Convince me with regard to these:
1. Sculpting of an image of God the Father.

This is off-topic but, if you want to continue a dialogue on this, you can post at the RELIGION forum. First off, read Genesis 1:26 ('Then God said: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and the cattle, and over all the wild animals and all the creatures that crawl on the ground."'). Since God is the number one image-maker, image-making is not technically what is prohibited. God actually commanded the making of images in many instances in the Bible (cf. Exudos 25:18, 37:7-9; 2 Chronicles 3:10-13, 4:4; 1 Kings 6:23, 7:29; Hebrews 9:5; Numbers 21:.

2. Requirement of payment during baptism, wedding, burial. Why are we denied the blessings when we can't pay right then and there? I hate these coz it happened twice to our family. Grrr....

Elaine Pagels - a feminist who has written several books against the Catholic Church, such as “The Origin of Satan,” written with the initial help of her colleagues at the Hebrew University of Tel Aviv. Pagels admits she was raised an atheist and that her father taught her that religion was “a children’s fantasy.”

She also supported the exhibit “Art, Religion and Resistance,” which featured Andres Serrano’s blasphemous “Piss Christ"

2. Amy Jill Levine, a member of pro-abortion feminist groups as well as the Anti-Defamation League. She believes Christians have been generally anti-Semitic since the time of Jesus, as evidenced in a talk she gave entitled, “Christians say the craziest things (about Jews).”


3. Bart Ehrman, head of the Religious Studies Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In works such as “Does Historical Evidence for the Resurrection Exist?” and “Lost Christianities,” which present information from the Gnostic sects of the first centuries, Ehrman casts doubt on the very existence of Jesus.

Ehrman told National Geographic that the text portrays Judas as “not the evil, corrupt, devil-inspired follower of Jesus who betrayed his master; he is instead Jesus' closest intimate and friend, the one who understood Jesus better than anyone else, who turned Jesus over to the authorities because Jesus wanted him to do so.”

Craig Evans and Francois Gaudard Evans, who has taught a various universities, denies that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, does not believe in the resurrection of Jesus or in his miracles and has written several works on the Gnostic sects in which he refers to the supposed anti-Semitism of Christians.

Gaudard, an Egyptologist and research associate at the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago, told National Geographic, “This text not only seriously challenges one of the most firmly rooted beliefs in Christian tradition, but also reduces one of the favorite themes of anti-Semitism to nothing."

mmmm i think i saw it in cable that it was carbon dated....and this kind of dating procedure was scientifically accepted and proven such in the case of dating the dinosaur fossils mmm i need to watch that documentary seems an interesting subject.Damn i switch channel a lot,.......... what ever if its 300 A.D or 400A.D or 200A.D it just proves that the piece of paper was very very old .......
