what do you know bout agriculture and its economics? please share it here..

lahi ang meaning sa effective and sa cost-effective... 1 liter of synthetic fertilizer is more effective than 1 liter of organic fertilizer, and also a lot cheaper.. to get the same effectiveness as synthetic ones, amount of organic fertilizer must be increased... so para parehas effective ang organic fertilizer use 1.5 liters or 1.3 liters or something like that..

kung cost-effective pa lang jud ang organic fertilizers mao jud tana gigamit sa ato mga farmers.. its also noteworthy that produce from organic farms are more expensive.. (nindut ni nga investment kay daghan fastfood chains dire mo kuha sa ila veggies, pero dont expect lang jud nga mao ni halinon sa wet market, mahal man gud)

i think it is not whether the chemicals used are less pollutant or very potent. If there are confirmed links nga gikan sa aerial spraying ang mga diseases. They should stop using it already, plain and simple. Why do we put the economics side above the well being of people?
Ana na jud ka distorted ato priorities?

And the church is only using its wide influence to help people be aware of the problem. So the people can decide for themselves what is good for them. I don't even consider myself a christian or catholic for that matter, but i acknowledge what they're doing.

Bago pa jud ko nakakita ug debate sa tv (channel NOW) about organically farmed vs those with pesticides. The first guy which was a scientist, defended the pesticides. Pero murag na hilaw siya pag sulti that their studies were financed by MONSANTO which is a corporation that produces these chemicals.

A lot of the pesticides that are used in our country came from richer nations like the US or europe, which have mostly been banned there but brought here to be sold para walay lugi sa negosyo. It all comes down to the bottom line... profit.

yes kahibalo ko kung unsa imo gusto ipa sabot, nga mas gami kita ang organic fertilizer compare to traditional way of fertilizer and etc...mas costly ang organic fertilizer compare to synthetic fertilizer and etc...

kung imo ko gi pangutana kung unsa ako nahibawan aning bahi sa panguma ug natural organizm nga presnt sa to yuta. i know i graduated in VISCA in baybay leyte as BS agricultural farming and organizm...dili tanan organic costly like kabalo baka nga ang sili pwdi himoon nga alternative insecticide it can kills 50 types of insect such as lice, ticks, mites, aphides and chiggers found on animals and plants.

    cold pressed orange oil

In use as a fungicide, the composition is diluted with water and sprayed or misted on the trees and plants, fruit or vegetable growth to directly contact the mold and mildew. An effective range for the dilution rate is from about 0.2 percent to about 0.6 percent by weight. The preferred dilution rate is about 0.4 percent by weight with a preferred range of from about 0.25 to about 0.5. The diluted composition is sprayed at an application rate of from about 120 liters (30 gallons) per acre to about 400 liters (100 gallons) per acre.

    Chamomile flower infusion

Steep 7 g of dried chamomile flowers (about 5 Tbsp) in 1 litre (4 cups) of boiling water. Cool the infusion and spray it on seedlings to prevent or control damping off.

    Baking soda solution

Dissolve 5 ml (1 tsp) of baking soda in 1 litre (4 cups) of water and add a few drops of liquid dish soap to make the mixture adhere to plant leaves. Spray on as a preventative against powdery mildew, rust and blackspot. Repeat every 7 to 14 days or after a rain.

    Garlic-based insecticide

Place a clove of garlic in a blender and add 500 ml (2 cups) of water. Blend until smooth. Pour the liquid into a container, cover and let sit for 24 hours. Filter through cheese cloth or a strainer. Dilute with 4 litres (12 cups) of water and add one or two drops of insecticidal soap to make the mixture adhere to plant leaves. Spray on plants infested with spider mites, whiteflies, aphids or thrips.

good kay naa ka knowledge ani..

now ang question.. ngano dili man parehas sa imo ang operation sa uban? and also, how do you apply it over a large area.. is it really cost effective? what facilities do you have in your biz.. as im aware that most organic farming also have their own water treatment plant (se negros their doing this) to reduce pollutants in the water they discharge. it is equipment like these that are expensive.. and talk about large areas..

may i ask how much space do you occupy? how bout the local market, can your produce compete with that from other growers?

hmm.. it seems lahi ta og area.. imo kay bohol, leyte and cagayan.. while im in negros, agusan, bukidnon and davao.. lahi ang conditions for each location.. although id like to know more about the water and soil condition for cagayan.

and it is a good business....i only plant all my organic fertilizer and insecticide. and by the way i am one of the exporter of atsal sa japan... i agree its good business.. i even mentioned it in an earliear post.. but is it cost-effective for other types of biz?

profit is very important.. walay biz nga wala naghuna2x profit.. unsaon nalang kung gamay ra og profit from produce due to high price and low market.. mao bitaw gi himoan nalang subdivision sa uban ang ilang mga plantation kay gamay ra kaau kita. maau pa ang real estate kay dako pa kita..
