regarding the 50-60hz cycle.. some may not find any problem with it but others will have. for example: a client brought with him an eheim from germany rated 220v 50hz.. he's problems is that he has a hard time running his pump. when he plugs it the impeller doesnt turn properly. he needs to push water through the hose before the pump starts running ok. this is ok wen u are there wen at the time that the pump didnt start pumping out water, if not the unit will overheat and burn. 2nd example: a chiller bought in HK 220v, 50hz.. did not last long. only 5 months used, it started to make unusual noise then it does not cool down the water. when it was inspected by a technician.. he said the compressor is burnt.. just imagine a unit made specifically for 50hz and running on 60hz.. meaning it get more from its labeled specification. it will still run but it may not last that long.
