that's a "short-cut" way of viewing life. i ain't surprised. religion itself is a shortcut way of living life. you don't even have proof that there IS a force beyond our material senses. i guess it's true, it's what you call "FAITH"---believing in what you don't see.

religion is just created by men.. religion is used by its leaders to subjugate the people thru the fear of eternal punishment and damnation.. by no way any religion is the moral authority of men..

there are many times that the rational action is by church standards immoral..

examples:

torture, you torture somebody to get information that would give you an advantage over the enemy.. if you dont torture him for information, chances are your going to suffer more casualties..

genocide.. you kill everybody from the enemy side to take over his/her resources to ensure the survival of your civilization, and to make sure nobody from that side will take revenge on you..

cheating.. college, its better to cheat than to repeat..

violence, deterrence, you make your enemies know that your capable of doing bad things so that they will think twice before attacking you..

greed.. you hoard resources so that you and your family may have access to scarce resources at times of crisis..

any action with the intent of good or for the welfare of many is good even if it causes pain and suffering to a very few.. the end always justifies the means as long as it is efficient..

there may be a force beyond our material senses. but that doesnt mean you have to ignore the material ones.. coz if you do that, the force will laparo2x u and call you "bogo"...

example, na trap ka sa baha.. moampo ka nga ginoo luwasa ko.. taod2x naa moabot bangka di ka mosakay kay ang ginoo ra moluwas nimo.. taod2x naa na pud helocopter, di lage kay ginoo ra moluwas nimo.. so na dedz ka.. pag abot nimo sa langit, unsa may iingon sa ginoo nimo? i guess it would be "bogo man diay ka"..

- Yes there is sir. Material existence is the crudest phase of the energy emanating from a force so subtle that it cannot be perceive by our human eye. ang hangin man gani maglisod nata ug kita although we can feel it but its material manifestation is invisible from our naked eyes.

Everything around us is energy. These are the different manifestations of energies: solid, liquid, gas, infrared, ultraviolet, gamma and so on. As it moves forward the manifestation or form of the energy gets more subtle. An accomplished mystic is able to tap these energies.
