Dude, I got ya the first time. Could you please read the quoted message and try to understand what information I'm trying to get. And yes, I've heard about the "wala sa pana, naa sa indian" analogy for the nth time - which I personally think is crap. If the same indian uses a 0.5mm bamboo-body bow vs a crossbow, which bow do you think is more effective?
It's both the indian AND the bow that makes a good archer. In no way is it implied in my post that it's only the camera that DOES ALL THE JOB. I just wanna take advantage at what technology has to offer - and with my research, being the highest model doesn't necessarily equate to having the best tool for a particular scenario (i.e. landscape, night shooting, weddings, etc.... you get the drift). I just wanna hear from actual canon users who are into wedding gigs.
Sheeesh... what does a noob have to do to get decent help around here...
The missus wants a canon...
Johnny, don't take my advice out of context. I've seen wedding photographers use a 300D, 400D, 40D, 50D, 5D, 1D, etc... true, a camera as a tool can help the photographer. What I'm trying to say is if you can afford the highest model, get the highest model. They are priced higher for a reason.
If you have a budget for 50D kit "only". Then my advice to you is get a cheaper unit but with a better Lens... but if you think you can get a better lens in the near future then get the better body. It will boil down to your budget and your purchase plans for the future.
Since you're asking about 50D or lower... then my direct response to your question is get a 40D or 50D. If you want the best all around for weddings, it's the 5D unfortunately. Since it's out of your budget then work around your limitations. This is where you as the "Indian" come into play.

Thank you sir. I appreciate the response. Honestly, I'm leaning towards the 40D but again; from my experience, I have yet to see a wedding photographer using that unit - hence I posted this thread to ask from pro canon users of their preferences and experiences.
And no, I did not take your advice out of context. In fact, I agreed with you.
Hope to hear more from wedding photographers who use canon. TIA.Kasabot ko na kinahanglan jud ug technical know-how ang usa ka photographer para makuha gyud niya ang tanan in's-and-out's sa iya camera, which is only a tool.![]()
1000D raman ako gamit during weddings + 50mm lens + external flash + PP. So I believe this boils down to the shooter, but it would really make your life easier if you can get a high ISO camera, 50D perhaps?![]()
