As to the issue whether life is meaningless, god exists, etc.... I think there is a need for us to post a new thread here.

it is given that humans CAN believe, they HAVE the CAPACITY. the issue is WHY they believe. the fact that many humans don't believe in god is enough evidence against biological determinism.

@bold font...people believe for a dozens of reasons or so...perhaps the most primeval reason was that humans gets struck by awe and reverence when they gaze at the magnificence of the world and the vastness of space above and death. Of all the species, man is only the one capable of realizing that despite the rather short length time man had existed in contrast to some ancient plants or animals who remain unaware to all of these.

If the universe is meaningless why did man is able to realized that? of all the species who had existed for millions of years, only man has the capacity for that, while all other great creatures do not..why? is it because evolution decide it would be better if they don't which I think is logical since we take out mankind from earth this world would be better without us...with man here, driven by his seemingly absurd inclination for destructions, greed and selfishness (perhaps driven in part of his meaningless existence which is too acute reality to him) is endangering this world. All of nature is working like a self-sufficient cycle for its existence, each species has contributed something for the whole...while mankind stand alone a selfish advance specie good for nothing actually in this magnificent world- we are worthless product of nature good only for one thing ironically- to realized exactly that.

We have no reason to exist if the universe has it...unless the universe is our sac. Like a baby inside a womb kicking, spending much of its time dreaming without an iota of what the world outside really is...mankind collectively from generation to generation until the last one to come, one damn cosmic baby in the making hehehe..

We may deny the concept of GOD or refuse to believe in this bullshit thingy but it doesn't mean the ESSENCE of the Collective Unconscious of Humanity is totally erased or forgotten.
