Parokya.. 'Akala ko'
urbandub and dashboard confessional kay..........
Bon Jovi. hehehehe
too many bands have influenced my life and outlook but this artists hit me the most...
Dredg - an Artsy band that ive been listening for 4yrs now. and have influenced me so much.
Bjork - one of the best lyricist of our time.
Anthrax and Mastodon - i have always loved Metal music and this two are my examples of an in your face metal without sounding to serious and the complex metal...
Blue Scholars, ATCQ and, The Roots - proof that Hip-hop isnt just about drugs,***, and violence.
i heard these artists in the 90s although some of them came way early than the 90s. There are lots of great bands today but having my elementary years in the 90s, it's where music really began flowing through my veins and into my system...
Alan Jackson- my introduction to traditional country and in a way his music opened the door for George Jones, Hank Williams ( i already heard Hank prior but didn't really paid much attention), and Willie Nelson. Influencial album is the 1998 CD, Under The Influence which is a cover album of Alan's musical influences from George Jones to Jimmy Buffett...
And because of Alan Jackson, i now enjoy his contemporaries like George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, and Brad Paisley. Of course the rest is due to the internet...
Collin Raye- The first ever pop-country cassette i bought. It was Direct Hits and i was hook. Because of him i came to know Lonestar, Clay Walker, Tim McGraw, etc...
Garth Brooks- 90s King of country music. Know him from a C-90 tape a friend made for me. Side A is Greyhoundz and Slapshock. Side B is Garth Brooks and Kenny Chesney. He told me Side B is supposedly for afternoon napping but i ended up playing Side B more than Side A..
Caedmon's Call- folk rock band with witty lyrics that deals with life, love, and God. Came to know this band through a compilation that includes N SYNC, Backstreet Boys, and al those pop artists distributed by Universal Records/Dyna Music. This is kinda out of place in that compilation but i'm glad they did include Love Alone.
The Moffatts- saw them first on TV and watching them play at that young age makes me wanna play a guitar. because of these siblings, i now play guitar and write songs. i am a big fan from their poppy Chapter One album to the Bob Rock produced Submodalities to their country music back catalog to the weird poetic, sometimes cryptic freak folk solo stuff of Scott Moffatts(although i'm not a big fan of the bands he's producing in Thailand and Canada)
Pearl Jam- growing up on 99.5 RT (when they were still rock), you can't avoid this band. It's even more overplayed than Nirvana if i remember it right. I got Ten and Vs on cassette and it still plays.
Eraserheads- The first ever pinoy band i fall inlove with. Then came Yano, The Teeth, After Image, etc... First album got was Ultraelectomagneticpop, a gift from my mom on christmas.
Chris Thile and Nickel Creek-an exception. this is in the 2k but i just can't resist. these guys changed the way i view bluegrass music....
