mao cguro gyud. but can we really live in an ark? maybe this is what happened in noah's time, that's y he built an ark.

should we build a very big ark and cut lots of trees? or plant more trees and save the north pole?

I still don't understand why people in this thread are still talking about the threat of rising water levels? The report is about Arctic ice melting, not LAND ice. Arctic is is water ice. Again, worldwide water levels will only rise if ice on land masses such as Greenland, the upper edge of North America, the upper edge of Eurasia, and Antarctica would melt. Unless there was a news report that said "Ross Ice Shelf Completely melts!" then there is no cause/reason to keep posting these alarmist posts.

it's not only the melting of ice and the rising of sea levels. it's the whole scenario. we cannot deny the fact that there is global warming and it affects the weather, the environment and even the polar bears. it is always safe to prepare for eventualities. if we do something today, we are doing it for our future generations.

Point taken. But where are the discussion about saving the environment and whatnot? All I see are people discussing how to build arks!

^^ um.i think it's because of the grim possibility that we can't do anything about it (?) or do we really have the power to save the ice..?

i am more personally alarmed with the possibility of ice animals' extinction. that's just my take.

accdg to the article, the Arctic will be 80-85% ice free in 10 yrs... (especially if we don't do anything)
