Fern: Sorry but all platforms would be obsolete in the future. 1366/i7 is going to release a new processor next year which is gulftown 6 cores 6 threads. So sorry, it won't be obsolete next year. If i7 would go obsolete, i5 would go down first, not i7.

i agree with andz, that's y i didn't go for i5 now...maybe sometime after the 1366/i7 6x6 is released maybe the prices of the 4 cores 1366/i7 procs will lower..

i think i9 is for lga 1366 that means you dont need to buy another mobo if you go for i7

i think its better if mag AMD PHENOM II x4 kay its just the same as i7. Running on 4 cores without any FSB. And mas una naka himo ang AMD ug processor na walay FSB. Nya socket AM3 pajud. ang boards para AM3 kay barato ra dli pareha sa mga x58 or LGA 1366 nga boards which will cost 8k sa pcexpress.

kun naa ka budget, why not. pro ppla plng sad ang nag i7 dri sa pinas? ders no nid to jump in the bandwagon. bisan ako i replace my dualcore 3.0 (on a P45 platinum) with a C2D E8400 and very hapi sa performance and opted not to OC....

If naa nay i9 then the mobo for i7 is ok for i9 then dha pako mag i7

extreme computers are design to long last maybe 3 years or so.... mao nay ila reason nga nganong mag name sila extreme og nano mahal.. like core2extreme... hangtud karon makasulod pa sila sa top 10 maski dugay na while ang core2 duo sa una kadto pirmirong batch wala na makita sa charts karon... so mao na di gyud basta basta ma obsolete ang i7 nga 900 series... then ang X58 kai maka tripple channel ka tapos 6 slots memory pa while p55... 4 slots ra sa memory ...so kon mao na imo budget nga 50k.. ill go for the i7 900 series.. parisan nimo og kadtong asus nga pinakabarato nga x58.... then memory nga 6 gb kaabot paka ana.. maski 80gb ra imo harddisk upgrade lang ka pohon.. nya parisan og branded nga power supply... kon gaming sad.. makarun naka og 9600GT or 9800GT. ok na kayo na sa gaming.. trust me... di gyud ka magmahay kesa moadto ka sa i5.. pero kon mohuwat ka sa i9 mas mayo.
