    Default Festivals in Arizona

Festivals are mini-events that can take you to a different time, can give you new ideas, and can just be downright fun. Arizona offers a multitude of festivals to choose from. Whether you are a resident of the State or just visiting, festivals are a great way to spend time.

    Apache Junction:

The Arizona Renaissance Festival is held annually from February to April. This event takes you back to the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Renaissance.

    Bisbee:
This famous old mining town hosts the Birding & Nature Festival during August. The festival features the birds of the Southwestern United States and events include field trips and workshops covering the animals of Southeastern Arizona.

    Chandler:
Tired of rodeos with boring old horses and bulls? Check out the Chandler Ostrich Festival, a three-day event in March where you will find everything ostrich, including races, a parade, and more ostrich entertainment.

    Flagstaff:
If you are visiting Flagstaff during August, you might enjoy the “Made in the Shade” Beer Tasting Festival.

Renaissance in the Pines, held in June every year, will take you back in time to the days of jousting knights. You will be able to enjoy artisans practicing the trades of their day while wandering through a marketplace from long-ago.

    Gilbert:
What can you say about the So Long to Summer Fest, except that it is held at the end of the summer in September, and has live entertainment, food, and fun for the whole family? It ends with a spectacular fireworks show.

    Grand Canyon:
The Grand Canyon Festival, held during September, uses the Canyon as a backdrop to feature artists that perform different genres of music including jazz, rock, world and classic.

    Prescott:
The Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering is held during August and features cowboy singers, bands, poets, and storytellers.

    Scottsdale:
This is a must for the younger crowd, but only if you bring a change or three of clothes. The annual Mighty Mud Mania is held in July every year. There is a mud obstacle course, mud pools, and of course, more mud.

    Sedona:
The Sedona Art and Sculpture Walk features renown artists and includes sculptures made from glass, bronze, clay, and marble as well as artwork in other mediums using watercolors, acrylic, and oil paints. This three-day juried show is held in April.

The Shakespeare Sedona Festival is held annually during July and features a new selection of Shakespeare every year.

    Tombstone:
If you are in Tombstone during April, besides hanging out at the OK Corral, you can look at the world’s largest rose tree, attend a basket lunch auction, and participate in a cake walk during the Tombstone Rose Festival.

Wyatt Earp Days celebrates more things Tombstone in May. It features an Earp look-alike contest, a fashion show, some gunfights, and a few hangings. What more could a person who loves the Old West want?

    Tucson:
The Arizona International Film Festival is held for ten days during April. Those who love film will be able to watch movies at midnight, go to receptions and parties, and enjoy tons of independent films.

Do you love hummingbirds? Then you will love going to the Festival of Hummingbirds in May. There are field trips, garden tours, and speakers so that you can find out more about these beloved birds.

Attending the Sun Sounds Great Tucson Beer Festival, you will find music, food, and of course, lots of beer from breweries throughout the Southwest during September.

The Tucson International Mariachi Conference is held in April. For four days, visitors can enjoy the sights and sounds of mariachi music and Mexican folk dancing.

If you are planning to go to a festival, double check the dates as they are subject to change. From muddy mayhem to fine art, have a blast.
