there's nothing you can do about it. That's how a world that is run by money works. This is a rat race after all.
Those who dies with the most toys wins.
i understand your point. pero tinuod man sad nang ibaligya ug balik ang yuta na gihatag kay mubalik ug squatting. the bitter reality man gud is beggars mostly are choosers. naay ihatag pero di ganahan kay either layo or di sad apuy.an kay kuyaw which i for one know is true man sad.
either parties don't meet at the end kay naa sad dyud uban na TA (take advantage) bah. Until we can meet a "true servant" on the side of politicians and a "contented reciever" on the point of the less fortunates magsige gyapon ang problema.
I know someone who invested 15 years of his hard earned money in a piece of property, thinking that it could finally make financially stable after working so long abroad. Problem was, he neglected to fence off his property and in less than six months' time, he returned to a lot full of squatters, who presented him with a list of demands before they would move out. Can you imagine the lot owner's frustration?
I have news for you, Lil Bo Beep and your little sheeps, nothing is free in this world. Even the free air we're breathing right now has been paid for many times over, IN BLOOD. Your absurd sense of entitlement is as entertaining as it is appalling, because you sound so pathetically sincere about it. This is the kind of twisted, immature thinking that bars progress, and places the burden of an individual's lot in life with some other person or entity, instead of taking responsibility for your own success. Even if you were given a one hectare lot in the middle of Ayala Business Park I doubt you'd know what to do with it.
That you're actually voicing out these thoughts is a slap to the face of all the decent hardworking people (Chinese included) who sincerely seek to improve their lot (pun intended) in life, and not only that, but to uplift the lives of their neighbors as well. I'm sure you'll be grateful to see the Filipino-Chinese Volunteer Fire Brigade when your ramshackle shack is in flames, and you wouldn't be calling them names. If you happen to go around downtown, you'd see many of these Chinese youth living the life of coolies, carrying their wares. They're not picky about it, because if that's what it takes to earn a decent living, they'll do it. I know a lot of hard working people from different economic backgrounds and nationalities, and they share a common trait: they know what they want and work hard for it without sacrificing their dignity as persons nor trampling on the dignity of their neighbors. Their faith (just as diverse) keeps them grounded, and all their children share their values and attitudes.
Be self-reliant. Count on the dint of hard work and perseverance, as well as lots of thinking and planning, so that when the opportunity arrives, you are prepared for it. I was brought up not to expect anything, but to work for it. Wealth has nothing to do with race or nationality, but the acquisition of the right values and attitudes, a good work ethic, and faith, not only in God, but in the common decency of our fellow men. Playing the race card only emphasizes your ignorance, especially in this day and age of the global community.
"Ethnic cleansing"? Please, have some self respect and read up on your history. The Chinese were once third class citizens, and not only here but in other places as well. Even in their own country. They learned from that. Can we learn from that? What values are we imparting? What attitudes do we have? What are we doing? I learned something from the Hongkies (people living in Hong Kong), when they see someone pull up in a Rolls, they say "someday I'll have that too, I'll just have to work harder". But here when we see someone with a nice car, the first thing that happens is usually it gets vandalized. Look at the walls around our city, full of spray painted names by little people seeking to immortalize themselves on somebody else's property. They don't realize that their immaturity is making someone (the hardware store and paint factory) richer. I've better ways of spending 150 bucks than to buy a can of spray paint and get my kicks from it by defacing somebody else's property.
We keep kidding the Chinese "insik kwakang" but do they react? No, they just work harder. While some loser abroad calls us monkeys and we raise hell about it as though it was a declaration of war. How about reacting in a positive way, like ignoring them and showing them that they're wrong in their views through our words and actions?
It's okay to be a loser, as long as you don't open your mouth and tell everybody about it. Instead work harder and smarter and prove to them that you're not.
THERE IS FREE OF THIS COUNTRY esp. when a candidate is promising the poor people to recover, to give them parcel of land. Out of the total area of the philippines, why is it so hard to give them what they promised, a parcel of land?
Re: chinese, there are a lot of them already inside the vicinity who even doesn't know how to speak english and our own dialect. And they are pure aliens, no papers, no documents.
maybe we can see the bigger picture and understand that this is a problem that we struggle to fight since the existence of mankind

I totally agree with W108. To expect somebody to just give you land is completely unrealistic. Even in Soviet times the land (for all intents and purposes) belonged to mother Russia. And as for persecuting minorities, well....in Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe sought to divert attention away from his own dreadful economic mismanagement by blaming white settlers and proceeded to evict landowners and farmers from areas they had been working for generations. Guess what?... the economy went into freefall and virtually all those farms to this day sit idle and unproductive.
The Philippines is a democracy (no matter how imperfect) with an economy based upon the principles of a free market. To prosper in this capitalist environment a person needs to be self-sufficient and motivated. If you feel that the world is passing you by then you need to increase your efforts for you only get out of this life what you put in!
