The Philippines is smaller than California. We have 80 provinces + NCR and we're always creating more provinces, making government even more inefficient and paying for more government officials who just collect their salaries without doing much. The US only has 50 states + DC. China only has 33 main political divisions (provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, SARs). Indonesia has 33 provinces. We have way too many at 80 provinces + NCR!

IMHO, if we really want our country to change, I think we should start in ourselves.

If the same breed of rotten officials will govern on our country, then it will be the same story of having less provinces. How about giving a right to the Filipino people to sue those politicians who does not contribute anything for good? I suggests that we should have a law with regards on this. Let us see on the outcome.

I agree with this statement and would add that this fractured bureaucracy of micro-management is not only inefficient, it is in fact an antiquated method of civil control dating back to the Spanish colonizers. Simple diversion tactics to keep the people busy arguing amongst themselves and to lessen perceived liability of the true rulers.

    wishful thinking lang:
have u ever heard what the ancient Athenians did to promote progress and avoid degradation in their society? They have an annual festival where each citizen will write a name they want to ostracize from their society. They will put it in a jar called "ostrakar" (i think) and then they will count the number of votes. The name with the highest votes will be ostracize for 10 years.

LOL... This is already happening. It is only when the monarch passes away that the heir can take over. So when Cory passed away, it was the only time when Filipinos realized that Noynoy can take over. Mura jud ug monarch. Further more, there are people who think that Noynoy is Santino who can only do good. Fairy tale jud kaayo!
