yeah I've read about his blogs on that website before.. bowlingformanila. it's kinda like an extension to that bobfreeman show anyway. that's why I'm thinking of it as more of a Shtick than anything. they're not even connected with a radio network or something.. it's just a group of guys doing their show thru the web.. nothing else..

that's primarily the reason why my first post on this topic was based on my experience about this Fil-Ams who were born and raised their whole lives outside of our country. or else I'd be like a fool who doesn't know what he's talking about if I haven't read or even had a first hand experience with this type of people.

well, we certainly have different kind of views.. im not denying that some of the things he says is not true,.. but he never see the good side of our culture. and worse, he has a filipino blood running down his veins. that's it..

his website was being discussed by a handful filipino furoms, ive just seen that in mannypacquiao.ph furom..

i understand your side, you may have been used to this type but I was not. so, kudos to him.

it's not that I'm used to this type of people, maybe I have a better grip on why they turn out to be this way. I'm also not implying that most of the Fil-whatevers are like him, it's just that there will come a time when a handful of this type of Filipinos would be doing the same thing as what he did.. maybe by then you'll come to realize that they're just misguided individuals whose parents didn't know any better than instill in their children's minds the culture that we have. the good traits that we could be proud of and all the positive things that Filipinos should teach their kids.

but this guy, he's just a lost cause. not even worthy to be a topic on any of the forums in the Philippines. that's why I don't care 'bout anything that's got to do with him, his blogs, his hatred for the Flips, his antics and so on and so forth.. he's a joke!! and that's my stand.

uhum... yeah, that happens mostly for some Fil-ams who hadnt had the chance to live and know what the filipinos are.. what a shame.

yeah, more of a lost soul. needs attention. you cant blame filipinos not discussing this kind of act coz its kinda interesting..

but still, i wanna put him down, im waiting for the act of God to whip his a$$ and put him very miserable all his freaking existence.. that is still my stand.

You might have heard some statements that Filipinos send Balkbayan boxes to their families in Flipland. I know that the country is a developing nation, and my mother keeps on sending clothes and money over there. It is a good idea to keep on donating goods and needed stuff over there, but those may not be enough to improve the quality of life.

The living situation in most of the land is low. Only high-class citizens with a decent job can afford homes that looks like some U.S. homes, not the ones you can see at Beverly Hills, but just a middle-class suburb type. An average Filipino family home lives in homes where you have to pump water outside along with an outhouse where you have to take a dump. It stinks as the water flows out onto the streets similar to the low-class homes in Tijuana, Mexico. (Just for the record, I have been to both the Philippines and Mexico.) How can they manage to live in those homes? What is even worse is that there are homes that have two rooms and a dirt floor. It is made out of wood that can be easily damage by having a football player push it down. Some of them do not have windows, and some have roofs made out of straws. Also, the extended families have to live in those homes, thus losing space to sleep. These people live poorly they have to depend on the relatives in the U.S. for money and food to support themselves. Also, the streets are made out of dirt and stones that would not be a conformable drive and would require a SUV to get to the town. It is not an vehicle to afford, so the residents have to take a so-called Jeepney to move from town to town.

How can we stop these living situations? There is one way is to invite more businesses like Nike, Sony, or other businesses to build factories so that they can hire the local residents to make mass production for their products. This will create jobs for the local residents so that they do not have to rely on their rich relatives in the U.S. Heck, they can wear the clothes that they produce just like in South Korea. Also, we can develop farmlands to rise crops like coconuts, bananas, sugar, mangoes, or avocados that can hardly be grown in industrial countries like Japan and Australia. I am for sure that it would be hard to have a banana field in the Australia outbacks, and the Philippines is the place with the perfect climate to rise this type of plantation. The profits will be split between the businesses and the local towns so that people can have money to invest for better homes. Next thing is to get construction companies to build U.S.-style suburbs on the land and replace those straw-roof and trashy homes into homes that we Americans are living now, whether it is a three-bedroom condo or a house with a backyard. Imagine if the Philippines will have plazas and stores like Wal-Mart and Safeway and a mall with a Macy’s nearby. Now the Filipinos over there can live in a much higher class of living.

Coconuts, twinkies, and “sellouts�: The definition for those terms mean “yellow/brown in the outside, white in the inside.� Those people are the best role models to the Filipino society, and that only accounts for less than 10% of the American-born Filipino generation. Most of them have a college education, and they dress conservatively. Some of them wear clothing from either the Gap or Pacific Sunwear. Most coconuts are ashamed of their Filipino peers in the United States for looking like fools. Everytime they meet Filipino people, they feel ashamed to be part of them because they do not act American. They have the right friends, not necessarily whites, but it can be anyone in any race. Filipino women who fit into this stereotype would date white men rather than the ones in their own race. The same holds true for the guys. (Go to wahpah.com to find out about Asian men who like to date white women). They prefer listening to rock music rather than hip-hop, and do not go to Filipino parties very often. Their Filipino counterparts call them “sellouts� for selling themselves to the Whites. In reality, they are basically being friends of the whites and learning to live the American standard that is acceptable to most communities (there are blacks and other people from other races who are doing the same thing).

This is the group I more likely to fit into, but there is more in me than just a Filipino-American guy you see out there. Technically, I would be a coconut. I describe myself as a Flip Jock because I like sports and enjoyed working out three times a week, and I love listening to Alternative rock and some hip-hop.
