The TV shows just reflect their target audience, most of which are Class D and E. Many years ago, it used to be only class A, B, and C who have TVs. OT: You may call it Filipino or you may call it Tagalog. Or you might claim that it's actually Taglish. But we all know what the most common language in broadcast TV in the Philippines. What to call it is OT in this thread. While there's a perception that Filipino/Tagalog shows are of inferior quality (which might be true as well, given the low standards of its main target audience), there are also English shows (and in other languages for that matter) which are of no educational value and which are as tasteless. I, myself, don't like Tagalog that much as I had very difficult time reading/understanding Noli or El Fili. But then, to be fair, I remember the few TV shows which were in Bisaya! Perting mas badoy pas nangamatay. Sorry lang gyud, bisdak man sad ko usahay, pero over naman sad to ka way budget ug ka badoy oi.
