@j_rotten: I made that suggestion but I don't see it happening any time soon. I think it would all depend if the weekly gigs are gonna work out or not. But like I said, it would be great to have a weekend gig. I'll certainly update you guys if there are any. Regarding the bands on the opening night, I already have 2 confirmed bands and 3 for the next Thursday. As much as I want let you guys know who are playing (that way the word will spread as soon as possible), I would rather wait and finalize the whole thing first.

@noigwen: The band will get a cut from the entrance fee. The more people they bring in, then more money they make. Part of it goes to the bar, the other goes to the band...simple as that. From a band's point of view, it would be great to get some TF but from a production's ground, it is pointless to give out TFs when the band/bands don't give an all out performance and can't get the venue packing with lots of people. And it falls on that "audience problem" where the bands aren't feeling the vibe from the audience. Honestly speaking, nowadays, it isn't enough to just practice on your songs and have a great performance. It also boils down to marketing, and without a great budget who else could market your band/songs better than yourself? Basically, its self-promotion for the band.

@Gee TF for some members of a band is an issue. Daghan mga maau na banda na pangwarta ang tuyo not just for exposure or the simple love for it. Mulagari man gani kung mahimo just to earn a few more bucks.

I think this should be addressed as well. kadaghanan sa mga banda naa nay mga obligation (like family and kids). Maybe it can work for a few days but i don't think it will work in a long-term scale.

One more thing it is sometimes pointless to give your all out performance for "basically" nothing.

@jeremiahjay: I totally agree, it'd be awesome to get TF for the time, effort and other obligations. As far as going all out on a performance, I understand that some bands feel it isn't worth it when you're getting next to nothing. I don't fully agree with it though coz I'm in it for the fun, but again, I do understand. I personally think that it is unfair for "showbands" to get paid more than some bands who put their soul into their music. No disrespect to them (kay mura naa man jud malain nako ato na comment), I know alot of people who are in showbands that are really good musicians, I know they want to play music and make money at the same time. It's fun, but it's a business.

I am keeping all these factors in mind and I do want the bands to get more, believe me. I do have plans to give more to the bands in the future. So yeah, it would work for the first few times but obviously, there needs to be support from everyone to get this working right. This hasn't started yet which only means that there's room for a lot of growth and opportunities.

Also, I'd like to set it straight now, you can't and shouldn't expect that I would be able to shoulder such a responsibility alone. There's a big chance for this to work and an even bigger chance for it not to (coz this is f#cking hard work!!), but hey, at least I know I did something

This a good head start bro. I agree with you at least you have initiated something worth initiating.

(i know this is more of an unsolicited advice) But if you want longevity and full commitment to band members (@ any time) TF is a factor gee. It is like playing a basketball game na way pusta.
