maybe the TS is not thinking... he have seen that most call center agents are young, fresh from college or undergrad, most of them don't have the capital to start a business, yet he want them to start a business. THE TS PROBABLY CAME FROM A WELL OFF FAMILY who can loan him a capital to start a business. i came from a poor big family, pag graduate nako what i'm thinking is to find a job and help my family, that was my priority.

business for me that time is far far far from my mind... WHY? i don't have the capital to start a business, even a cellphone loading business di gihapon kaya sa capital.

my situation is, maybe shared by other call center agents who have families in the province.

I agree with TS. Any business is better pero dili lang sad jud compared ra sa call center agent bro. Call center industry "somehow" helped a lot of people as of the moment lang na ngita pa ug work na suited jud for their profession. Mao man na ako gibuhat sad and nag tigom ko, palit kog appliance sa balay, tabang ko sa bills and then finally saved money for my NCLEX exam. I would not be able to do all those if wa ko ni work sa call center.

naa ko kauban sauna nga 58years old didto sa cvg last nako balita naa pa gihapon siya didto
Nag start cguro cya sa cvg pag 54 yrs old niya.. kay 4 years pa man cguro na ang cvg.

I am working in a callcenter paying me 6 digits per month and no taxes!!

Why is your salary not taxable? naa diay ing-ana? hehe

as i see it, call center job is indeed a good job if theres no other alternative.. however, it would be very unwise if mao ra ang saligan.. the BPO industry is very volatile.. at any moment, bpo companies could open otherseas that could compete with ours..
you arE correct, Doctor, lawyer, engineer and BUSINESSMEN if di ka kamao mo diskarte wala gihapon ka. so ergo magdaog ra sa diskarte.

to those who value job security.. i cans ay that they are selfish.. they think only of their own and not for the comunity..
For me Sir, starting a business is patriotic ONLY IF you give justice to your employees ug dili mura nalang ug pangayu.on ang ila sweldo with unbearable working conditions. Believe me I have seen this with my naked eyes here in Cebu. ang mga tag-iya dagko kaayo ug profit, ang ila mga trabahante gagmay kaayo ug sweldo.. NOW, CAN YOU STILL SAY THAT THEY ARE PATRIOTIC??

Yes, they provide jobs but my question is, are their employees receiving a living wage? WHO ARE SELFISH THEN?

I would rather work for a foreign master if I know I can continually provide food on the table, send my siblings to school.. Sir, I've seen enough hardship in my lifetime, I grow up in a poverty stricken Agusan in Mindanao.

Sir, I hope you are an enlightened businessman.

there is always two sides of the coin Sir, if dako ka ug sweldo and if maayo ka mo save, dako pud ka ug ma save. and this will put you in a better position to start a business since you have a capital plus the trainings and knowledge you acquire in call center will somehow equiped you.

Don't make a mistake of equating PATRIOTISM with PROFIT in the pretext of providing jobs.

    My thoughts on this subject?
na notice lng nako ha, those people who are berating the call center industry, murag di nice ug spelling and english.. LOL!
do i sense something fishy like someone not being hired sa call center coz of not being able to posess the "twang"??
maybe bitter lng mga tao diri.. don't know.. =)

Besides, what makes you think having a business is that stable? that having one means your family is well provided later on? how many businesses in the past have fallen and the owners having to resort to Call Centers or the like? and why do you have to hit on Call Centers?? what's your big problem? there are a lot of foreign investors here and many Filipinos working for them? why not include them?

Based on my conclusion sa ako lang ma observe, most people are after for security that is why gamay ra ang dato sa atong nasod. hehehe! For me job security now adays is just a myth.

If ma dato ta tanan, kinsa naman mu do sa ato labor? mang import napud ta ug taga africa para mahimo atong mga yayas and boys. Ka hassle ana ui!

This is the very reason why nag do tag business here in our country rather than work in the states. In the states, yah! dato lagi tanan but mahal ka au ila manpower didto! Here, you have the freedom to hire as many employees you want as long as you give them fair wages.

Ana jud na, dapat mga foreigners na maoy mu silbe nato. Hehehe! Para ma first World nation nata. Hehehe! Kung tanang Mindset sa Pinoy kay gusto mag dato, aw atong nasod mu first world jud ni kay mang hire na man tag foreigners, hehehehe!

They should work hard for us not the other way around. Sila ra kamao mu api ug isig ka Pinoy unya atong mga brothers and sisters nanrabaho sa gawas kay abusohon lang. Dapat sila na maoy mu luhod sa atong atubangan dili kita.

First step ana kay mag save ta diri sa ato kaugalingong nasod. More income flows into our country, and less expense ato ipagawas sa nasod. Para tanan kwarta gikan sa laing nasod suyopon padulong sa atong nasod. Then dapat kahibaw ta mu patronage sa atong own products, dili imported atong paliton.
