Kanang mga magkinahanglan ug BASIS basin nagpabota-bota lang ta or are we just simply blind. I have been to europe before(as employee), ang mga tawo didto mahadlok sa balaod more specially if you're a son/daughter of a known politician, a lord or even a prince and princess...Halah du! kuyaw kaayo ang pinas in fairness...SOmah gud, if your influencial here or son or daughter ug politico, bisan ug adto sa laing nasud moingon pa" wa ka kaila nako"?...

Well if a rich Kano comes here to live he will need gates, high walls, and bodyguards. Bodyguards must deliver and pickup his kids from school. He can not walk the streets with out people following him with hands out, and everyone wants to charge him extra for everything. Everyone thinks he should loan them money, and have no intentions of ever paying back.

And even he is not rich, and is a poor Kano like me, and his family lives on a fixed budget, and you explain you do not have extra money, they will only say,"I do not believe you, you are Kano, you have plenty of money". Yes things maybe cheaper but we have a target on our back to all that want to try to exploit and try to get easy money. We have no real rights, and the food chain goes all the way to the top.

That is why foreign tourist mostly choose other foreigner friendly countries to visit and live; and foreign business are moving and relocating elsewhere. The corruption is too deep and starts from the top, but for a Kano it goes all the way to the bottom.

I love living here and the country is beautiful, but I get tired of the hands sticking out at me. Now Christmas is coming and for 8-10 weeks of constant carolers, people wanting hand outs, envelopes from every church seeking donations, and every street beggar targeting me and my family. My family does not even celebrate Christmas because of our religious beliefs. Sometimes it gets to be just a bit much. We have to bite our lip and take things we would not back home. To be careful not to hurt someone's feelings, who does not give a damn if they hurt ours. To be careful so some corrupt evil person does not file false charges to try to get us deported, or to try to take something from us. It is not so easy to live here, in a way a Kano has to be crazy to live here, or have really strong reasons and a strong will.
