i recently play DeadSpace - HardMode on first play.
DeadSpace feels repetitive. dili man hadluk - im on chapter 11.
It's not scary - only feels like adrenaline rush from time to time.
kung sa movie pa ni -
DeadSpace = Friday the 13th
Fear/FatalFrame = the grudge
this one made me scream like a girl.
so far - fatalframe is still the scariest game.
mas nindot ni dulaon on full suround sound.

Although its repetetive But i think if you play a game repeatedly it most likely be repetetive.
Pero first time play is very freaky. Those humanoids would just pop up out of nowhere from vents from the walls and ceiling.
Also how can I forget this game Riddick: escape from butcher bay, there was one stage wherin its absoluteley pitch black its an underground place where humback humanoids ambush you. You only have limited flare which is not enough for you to finish the level. Thats not enough the place is an undeground maze in pitch black.
You have to look for the elemental there (some human sage with elemental powers).
Its realy scary when these humanoids would rush towards you and your flare runs out suddenly . You would only have the blast of your shotgun for a split second to light your sorrounding.
After this stage comes a relief and a great reward Riddick is given the "eye shine" skill which gives him the ability so see in pitch black. (Yeah). the downturn he can't clearly see in the light anyway thats why he wears those cool dark gogles on light environment all the time.
This game is actually a prequel itself from the first riddick movie pitch Black.

I found Dead Space to be the scariest game I've ever played, start to finish. The sound design, the absence of HUD elements made it groundbreaking for me.
F.E.A.R. wasn't so scary for me, as you never get to fight the ghost(s) anyway. It's just scare tactics that jolt you for a short period of time. You pretty much fight the same enemy all over and over again. But F.E.A.R. was still a lot of fun.
HL2's Ravenholm level was indeed scary, but for me, that level in HL2: Episode One where you and Alyx are trying to get to an elevator, was a different level of scary. The whole frikkin floor had no lights, save for a few flares that you need to conserve. And zombies/zombines everywhere!! WTF?? I'd like to try that level again on Hard. I doubt I'd make it though.
L4D is also a fun and scary game at the same time, especially with friends. Easy and Normal modes are eaassy.. but Advanced and Expert is a whole different game, especially when a tank arrives!
Bioshock also had scary moments, but I had too much fun trying the different abilities, I really didn't care anyway.![]()
