c'mon y' all. don't be too negative about this. do not twist the meaning of the Spanish treaty just because of the Paco case.

the treaty is not something nka bati sa Pilipinas. this is not about the rich evading justice. this is not about justice pabor sa datu. the treaty is a 2-way street u know. it can also benefit the Filipino in Spain in case he/she committed a crime there.

with this treaty, it does not mean justice won't be continued to be served on Paco. His jail sentence will be just a change of address. He may look very big and a bully inside our jails but I am afraid he won't be in Spain...i even want to believe ma itoy na cya did2...hehe

let us look at the bigger picture.

Gov’t to make sure rape convict stays in Spanish jail
    First Posted 02:23:00 10/08/2009

MANILA, Philippines—Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita and acting Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera yesterday sought to assure the family of the victims of rape convict Francisco “Paco” Larraņaga that he would get no preferential treatment at the prison in Spain where he was transferred.

Devanadera said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) had directed the Philippine Embassy in Madrid to visit Larraņaga at least once a month at the Centro Penitenciario Madrid 5, where he is to serve the rest of his life sentence for the 1997 abduction, rape and murder of sisters Jacqueline and Marijoy Chiong in Cebu City.

I beg to disagree. Unsa may di ka negative ani. Or unsa may naka positive ani? Wa pa man gani Filipino prisoner gipabalik diri from Spain.

Can benefit the Filipino prisoner who committed a crime in Spain? For all we care, hasta siguro kadtong mga Filipino citizens (and not Spanish citizens), magpapriso na lang didto kaysa mo avail ani nga treaty.

What is the bigger picture? There are many questions:
    1. Why is Paco the priority? Why is Spain the priority? There are more Filipino prisoners in the Middle East who are there for violations that are not even considered crimes here in the Philippines.
    2. Paco was a dual citizen. We can even argue that he is more Filipino than he is Spanish. If the government insists, we should be able to retain him here. Kadtong mga Spanish citizens jud nga walay Filipino citizenship, we are sure we have no choice but to abide by the treaty.

All I see in this situation is mas dako pa siguro ang nakuha nga kickbacks ani sa mga taga DOJ ug taga national government kaysa sa gibayad nila sa Chiong family.

well, mabuhi-an diay cya did2? di ba piniriso man gihapon cya ig abot did2? so what's the fuss? what's the difference man diay if one serves a sentence here to one that serves the same sentence and continues it in Spain? u assume he will be more comfortable there? that's it?

we still have not heard of a case about Filipinos who committed a crime in Spain and being extradited here. I don't even wanna hope that there will be. kung wala pay kaso, aw mas labing maayo. kinanglan ba diay naay mo commit ug crime nga Pinoy did2 unya ma extradite just to prove the treaty is beneficial?

also think about their families who want their Filipino prisoner to serve their sentence here instead.

if you read the treaty, the bigger picture is in there.

btw, Paco is not the priority. He was just incidentally the first case. the first controversial case.

kung moingon c Paco, his family, or the Spanish gov't nga did2 sa Spain cya mo continue, wa tay mahims ana due to his dual citizenship under the treaty.

likewise, kung ang Pinoy nkasala sa Spain nya moingon dinhi cya mo continue sa sentence, wala sab clay mahims ana.

what's kickbacks and commissions have any to do w/ this treaty? u mean to say mka kwarta cla ni Paco? would u care to enlighten?

ako pre, wala ko nilaban ni Paco. at first, i wasn't even happy nga did2 cya sa Spain mo continue sa sentence. but reading the treaty, OK raman diay...

Mao ni ang pinakadakong sayop ni Paco.

try to imagine og ma priso ka sa gawas unya walay pinoy. kinsa man imong ma istorya.

nag trabaho ko sa offshore. same as prisohan. only diff. is daghan me recreation dri including internet.
og 2 months on 1 month off ra ako contract.

Dako kaayo nga differencya f naay pinoy nga ka uban ka. I try 2 times nga walay pinoy akong ka uban puro puti. mura kog mabuang sa 2 months.

Paco is not an ordinary prisoner. maka request cya sa munti og unsa iyang gusto og daghan pa cya masugo.
