alice in chains used to be a glam rock band and they don't categorized themselves as a grunge act, they might be from seattle but they are not grunge band as what they said. they love to be categorized more under hard rock. by the way check out AIC's guitarist website http://www.jerrycantrell.com/news.asp and check out his new band Cardboard Vampyres with Billy Duffy of legendary 80's new wave/metal group The Cult. they play cover songs and no news of a new album yet.
