I am human and make mistakes, Sorry but I am only Human. When you walk on water then you can judge me. I only worked with the theories and have never tried to up grade or downgrade a theory. When I was in school that was the way we were instructed as I had remembered it, in the proper procedure Hypohhisies to theory to law, and that both Theories and Laws both can be still disproven. Last time I was in a college was in a class was 1994, and the last time I was in a lab was in 1999. I would not doubt that they are other things that I have forgotten over the years to. That is life. I am sure you remember everything you have ever read or did in school.
When I saw your answer I looked on the internet and found where National Academy of Sciences (NAS) a scientific theory is "a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that can incorporate facts, laws, inferences, and tested hypotheses." No amount of validation changes a theory into a law, which is a descriptive generalization about nature. So when scientists talk about the theory of evolution--or the atomic theory or the theory of relativity, for that matter--they are not expressing reservations about its truth.
It seems that the ongoing battle between Evolutionist and creationist may have brought out this redefining. Creationist trying to use the term Theory in court as to mean unproven and relegated to being insignificant. Evolution science trying to be established in all public school in the US have done so to block this practice used by creationist lawyers.
That term Law now are rarely used anymore because of the complexities of many subject choose rather to just use the term theory instead.
When I was a young studying it was a dream to make that great discovery that would have you name immortalized attached to a Law like Newton, now it will probably just be a theory. Most of the change has been because of the evolution movement.
As I was researching you answer on the internet, I found I was not the only one confused with these changes in views.

Does not apply to "Christians". Take a survey of those against evolution here. See if they are Christians.
Disclaimer: (what I know)From the perspective of the non-Catholic crowd of Christianity, Catholics are not Christians. You are either a Catholic or a Christian(Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran etc etc ad nauseum).

@jamesmusslewhite
do you understand now that this -> "evolution is just a theory, not a law" is a stupid argument?
actually, it depends what FACTS you're referring to. if we talk about FACTS with limited observation then the probability of it changing is 2 in a million percent. however, if we talk solid FACTS then the chances of it slightly changing is impossible. however, there are truths that are simply truths. Spring is male. Spring is a mod. i can't change Spring to a woman unless he wants to (*** change). the Sun rises and sets. etc...
Not so fast Chad...majority of creationists do not belong to Roman Catholic Church. Actually its the other way around... it's a slap to catholics who had been had by the church attempts for conformity in doing so the RC acts of beatification of saints are now reduce to mere spectacle and the claims of miracles are now just mere fables...
Creationist are of different breed...they are steadfast..they cannot be in a Roman Catholic..I would not be surprise if one day catholics will find gay marriage in the church's altars...its a matter of time...
Maybe perhaps it can be argued that gay people simply evolve...
noooo you're older than me >.<
OT sharing tiem :
around lent, a group of young adults approach our group asking if we we're Christians. The had pamphlets for some lenten worship activity.
One of my friends replied, "yes, we are Catholic".
They say, "oh ok." then turn around. No Pamphlets given.
