Indulge with me please ...
Tell me,
- Why does a website tell you what time is it when it was just taken from your computer clock?
- Is it trying to remind me to get some sleep already?
- Why would I care to know the time while visiting the website?

Tell me,
- Why does a website tell you that it is W3C compliant?
- Would it get revenue if I click on the Validate logo?
- Why would I care to know about whose powering it?
- PHP who? Your SQL? Does that come with iced tea?

And more rants...
Tell me,
- Why does a website use such cute tiny fonts?
- Are they selling something illegal and they don't want the cops to read it?
- Are they planning to rent out all those empty spaces?
- Are they saving on inks?

They wanna show they're l33t knowing all those sup3rk3w| omgwtfbbq kickass codes and stuff.
Although putting a link up to the markup and stylesheet validator is a lazy way of the owner on checking if the site's flawless. haha

If the answers of your questions you're asking is "yes", does it provides negative impact on the webpage?
This is my hated feature* Why does a website tell you what time is it when it was just taken from your computer clock?
* Is it trying to remind me to get some sleep already?
* Why would I care to know the time while visiting the website?
Are you expecting iced tea from that feature* Why does a website tell you that it is W3C compliant?
* Would it get revenue if I click on the Validate logo?
* Why would I care to know about whose powering it?
* PHP who? Your SQL? Does that come with iced tea?It is more useful for the developers of this site...
Cute tiny fonts are not the emphasis of the site. Those are information that is unrelevant but quite informative for the designers/developers, but most users don't care about it making it tiny fonts emphasize less relevance than bigger ones and doesn't mean you don't have to put it on the site like copyright information....* Why does a website use such cute tiny fonts?
* Are they selling something illegal and they don't want the cops to read it?
* Are they planning to rent out all those empty spaces?
* Are they saving on inks?
Those are just my opinions...
haha... ^____^ im so confused... putting a date function is cool but a timer? i got 7 clocks in my room... a wall clock, an alarm clock, my wrist watch, my wife's wrist watch, my cell fone and my wife's cell fone...
tiny fonts, hmm.. some users hate to scroll down. solution = smaller fonts.
whose powering it?... id care less too...
myPHP&yourSql = h4x0r!
hehehe xyberblue... imagine lang ko kung ang copyright footer sa site kay size="+4" ang font... hehehe
What $dbpasswd was trying to say about the "cute tiny fonts" is that it's hard for users to read them on higher resolutions. Heck, I know I always have to apple+ when I visit some of my online haunts, and I'm only on 1024x768. What more when a user is on 1293461897x29816294 ? :P
for internet explorer go to View tab then select Text Size then choose the size of text u want
