What is it with immorality? Whose standards matter and why is the catholic church always dictating law? I'm pretty sure that most people are sensible enough to choose for themselves what they wish to listen to and let's not forget that there is more than one religion to consider within these islands!

Let me also add that the Philippines is a country of Filipinos representing different regions, faiths, cultures, etc. To call the Philippines a Roman Catholic country is arrogant.

If we follow your logic we will end up having to repeal all laws against murder, prostitution, drug abuse, etc. because these too are based on morality advocated by religion.

It seems you DON'T understand what separation of Church and state means. Read the Constitution. It means that the government cannot impose a state religion and that the government cannot interfere in or prevent the practice of religion. That's ALL it means. It does NOT mean religious institutions cannot participate in legislation or in politics. Why do you think the U.S. has pastors who are senators?

You don't need to read the constitution to know how much power the Catholic church holds in this land. Immorality is a vague and overused term often used and easily twisted by those with an agenda. Faith is a good thing, but be careful not to blindly accept every word spoken by the clergy because one size does not fit all.

But you should read the Constitution to know that the Church is well within its rights to advocate for reforms and other things. All religious institutions (including non-Catholic ones) have that right.

The point is that "separation of Church and state" does not prohibit religious institutions (Catholic or otherwise) from exercising those rights.

Ka nindot ra sa mga kanta ni Max Surban ug Yoyoy Villame nga pakatawa... why doesnt the church protest against sexualy suggestive paintings while they're at it.
