question:
why do the bands have to pay for the auditions? are we reverting to that unsavory custom of the old "pay-to-play" era of the local music scene? people have worked hard years ago to stop that practice, and people are working hard now to give more value to the local musicians. is it not enough that the local bands do not get paid (food and drinks are not even guaranteed), that they have to actually pay to audition?
