mine is older a p4 the non ht version change some dead parts and it still run good for torrent but i dont think its good for the electric bills

i might need to build some atom rig for lower power usage


if your new rig include a new monitor get as much extra budget for the gpu

Mag lisod na ang 8800GT sa latest games karon, labi na sa crysis then samot kung taas ang resolution sa imong LCD. Get atleast GTX260 or HD 4870 above na Video Cards, mao na siyay the least. You can go as high as 15-25k on a 5850/5870 or GTX285/296, 4870X2 kung dako2x imung budget...

What type of games do you usually play? kay didto man ta magbase sa imung GPU na kuha-unon. If it is CPU dependent or sa GPU, hinuon pila ra man games karon ang mu support og quad. GTA IV or Farcry 2 ra ako nahibal-an

About sa PSU naman, i don't recommend the HEC brand unless you are really tight on your budget kay barato ra man siya. But sa imung budget, i recommend Silverstone, Corsair na PSU. Ayaw jud pag generic kay sayang og delikado uban nimong parts kung imung tipiron imung PSU. Tan-awa sad ang amps sa 12V rail sa PSU...

Kung pure games lang, Core2Duo is fine already kay games karon only uses 2 Cores. If mag video rendering ka or multi-tasking, go for the quad

Kuhag mobo na daghan energy saving features, solid caps, taas og FSB and Ram support. I recommend Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI brands...

Go for dual channels sa ram, much better kung 4GB kay for me, bitin ang 2GB. Also check the voltage, ang latency/timings sa Rams and of course compatibility. OCZ, Corsair, Patriot, Kingston Hyper X, Geil, Mushkin na mga brands ang ma recommend nako..

P45 ang bang for the buck na chipset karon, unless gusto kag X38/48 which is medyo mahal compared sa P45 chipsets...
