    Default Film making anyone?

Am currently doing a short feature about a torture/human experiment. And am lookin for volunters for an acting part: I would need 2 person/actors as doctors and one acting as the victim or the tortured guy.

Contact me if ur interested, 09196870377. Am still on the process of procuring some primitive props.

Just for the fun of it.

I have just finished the trailer of my new short feature "Term". Its kinda like Terminator but again with a local twists and plot. Here are the screenshots..

Volunteer actors are needed for this feature. [/img]

    Default Film making anyone?

    Hey guys,
I need a little advice on lighting,
so far I'm using halogen floodlights varying from 150W to 500w,
so far they've been good to me, but somehow there must be some other techniques to push lighting skills further to enhance a scene.

for example, I experimented on a music video by putting a 500W light behind the subject(actor) I didn't take notice of the other flourescent lights behind him, and low and behold, when I shot the scene, iot made a dramatic effect of illuminating the actor and contrasting with a bluish backgorund. sadly, the footage was never used

    Vanceloma,
You can buy the Cinematography book they have at National Bookstore. I forgot the title and author. It is filled with samples and suggestions from Hollywoods top DP's. You can also refer to some photography books and magazines for lighting techniques since basically they are about the same for filming videos. BTW can we see your music video?

Halogen working flood lights are not video corrected meaning you would have to adjust manually the white balance of your camera. Halogens light is too warm for certain video footage and does not reflect the actual color range as perceived by the naked eye.

Moviemaking existed for about a hundred years and your notions of fallacy for the lighting process (exact science as to say it) in movie making is somehow overrated...

Of course, that's why I needed advice.
I know that halogen isn't the perfect lighting instrument, But it's the only thing that I have right now, and like what I said, It's satisfies me just fine for the color range fits the exact mood of the concept.

I just saw a film by Krzysztof Kielowski (damn, that's hard to pronounce) and that guy knows his production techniques. His film trilogy, titled White, Red and Blue are amazing.

what are you talking about xypher?

IMHO, there is no other filmmaker as meticulous as Krzysztof Kielowski. His very sense of instilling even the finest detail in the filmmaking process is amazing.

Have seen the trilogy and it is the most detailed movie ive ever seen in terms of lighting, framing and composition. Red, Blue and White represent the three colours of the flag of France. The trilogy was partly funded by French government.

Sad to say, Kielowski died of heart attact nine years ago (1996). What a great loss...
