but isn't it photo "manipulations" was done wayyy before photoshop was invented? The Hoax Photo Archive

does this mean that people/"photographers" who has done it before photoshop was invented are not "real" professional photographers or it safe to say that they are "manipulators" and in this modern world also called "photoshopers"?


just asking what is it with people who are against photoshop or "photoshopers"?

^^i guess the technological means has made it with lesser effort these days and can somehow be done in less than an hour or even much lesser. im sure you are very familiar of the difference between a darkroom and a computer. because the comfort brought by modern technology can sometimes make us play around more easily and tend to drift from the real capture. and some also are drawn just by the sheer awe of the digital technology rather than the true essence of photography. I have known some, hopefully not most of today's just-became photo enthusiasts quipping "naaah that shot is fine lets just improve it on computer".
my point is I hope technology wont breed the kind of photographers that are just more dependent on the exploits of the modern means rather than the true quality and essence of the real traditions of photography.

honestly I have nothing against photoshoppers--some I know are just pure techies than photographers and are good friends of mine.
probably the views and aspects we might not always agree.

I just hope expressing my views here are not like jumping into a pit full of vipers
we all are seeking enlightenment here. forgive me if I made some brash statements which is not to my intent at all.

no need to ask forgiveness... hehehehe... it's just that basing on your posts in the photography threads here in istorya, you seem to "generalize" that the "professional" photographers are "photoshopers"... you seem to always include the term "photoshopers" whenever you write professional photographers on your posts... don't get me wrong im not a "pro" but a plain "hobbyist" who loves to play with "photoshop", was just wondering...
