Long Distance Relationships

i don't know about others ha but ako, i don't sugarcoat, sulti lang ko sa akoang part. of course, naa man jud ang kalisod tungod sa distance, stated man ni sa mga earlier posts nako but i have no choice, i love the guy, i understand why we need to be apart. ambot lang kaha sa akong boyfriend kung naglisod ba sya sa among relationship or wala, if tinood pa ba ang iyang mga i-love-you's or dili na. if he's cheating or not.

@pnk_shadows, yeah, you're right about couples nga naa jud mga batasan nga mausab, people grow, ang problema lang if a couple grow apart tungod sa distance. nahitabo man pud na with my past relationship, after almost a year nga layo, i still love him but wala nako kasabot, sauna buotan pa kaayo, nya nikalit lang nausab, nag-love ko ug stranger, more than 3 years ko nag hold sa mga good memories namo sauna, makalibog since masabot man nako sya if layo mi, nya if duol na stranger jud.

again, take na pud ko sa risk sa LDR. i believe man gud nga distance is not the problem, naa ra man jud na sa couple unsaon pagdala. after 2 years nga layo, magkakita na jud mi sa akong bf late this month. i have fears ni-grow ni apart, fears that mag-love na pud ko ug stranger but bsan naa pa na nga mga fears, optimistic pa man ghapon ko that everything is still alright. anyway, if dili ni mag-workout, i-post lang nya nako, hikhikhik.

Well, anyone here who has an LDR will always defend the relatioship. I just hope that most of these people are really honest about what happened in their relationship.

I just hope they dont sugar coat it otherwise they will misled some of our folks here or they just cheating themeselves.

Be realistic. LDR is not easy. Its difficult to have an absentee boyfriend or girlfriend. People needs touch and physical contact you know. And I dont mean ***. Just being physically with one another. LDR in the long run is not healthy.

Long distance relationships can be frustrating and sad at times, but it can also become very romantic, because there's always something to look forward to. That time when you can be together again. Think of the positive. Focusing on the fact that you can't be together right now will only make the distance worse. Think on why you love this person so much and how lucky you feel that you are with this person to begin with. Communication is important, Communication is even more important for people in long distance relationships. because if you dont have honest and open communication the distance will grow even wider. Communication can come in the form of e-mail, "snail" mail, telephone, Instant chat services and so on. Each person in the relationship must make communication with their SO (significant other) one of their top priorities. When it comes to the telephone, make this time a time to do nothing but concentrate on your partner. Do not watch TV or take care of chores while talking with your SO. This is the time to just sit in a quiet environment (or as quiet as you can get it) and honestly listen and respond with your SO.
No one ever said relationships were easy, and you could pick a more convenient one, but would you be happier??
In my point of view, being in a long distance relationship is like a marathon- once you've started, and got half way into it, you just go and finish off. If you've gotten so far, don't let distance be the thing to tear you apart. And remember...everyday that goes by, is a day closer to when you can see your sweetheart again. Love prevails over all

Before I was into my present relationship, I've never believed that long distance realtionship works. I've always believed that physical presence is essential in every relationship. Last february, my boyfriend decided to go to the States and work there for 6 months. Since it's what he wants to do and I love him so much, I agreed to his decision. So now, I'm in what I used to believe could never work. I'm in a long distance relationship now... And I pray that I can prove to myself that what I used to believe is wrong.

The distance and the thought that he won't be back until august is killing me. But he calls everyday and often, even more than once a day. While he was here, I was lavished with all the attention and care. He spoiled me. Then all of a sudden, I don't get those things that I've always depended on, and looked forward to... His hugs, his kisses, his touch, his corny little jokes... seeing him laugh, or smile.. i can't touch, or hug, or kiss or talk to him anytime i want to anymore. Since I'm not from Cebu, (I just came here to work) I don't have my family and close friends to keep me company. Which makes it harder for me. I feel so alone in the world.

Needless to say, I miss him like crazy and I still cry even though he's been away for more than a month now. I seriously even think I'm going down into depression. Reading what n'gel wrote above greatly helped. I believe in our love. I really pray we'll make it.

My story is still unfolding itself. It can go to either side right? Maybe I'll just go back to this post in August. Then we'll know on which side I'll be on.

Till then, I'll pray I'll belong to those who believes Long distance relationships work.

take it from me. i have been into two long distance setting and the first one failed. I was left deeply hurt and (as expected!) and bitter.to make the story short, we ended just like any corny love story.
the second one, is the most roller coaster ride of my life.Least that i expect it, it just came to me like a boomerang!just like old love song, love knocks in my most unexpected moment of my life.
They say, we have a hell lot differences.90% all the time.we just spent 2 months with each other and i flew here in manila to work.so, we i ended crying every night and see each other every after 5 to 8 months and would only spend 1 or 3 days the most.a torture.
but we eventually worked our differences and hearts grew fonder..now, iÂ* chose to end this kind of setting and spend not just the whole summer but my whole life with him..i decided to come back in cebu ..for GOOD.

Well, it shows that LDR is not an ideal set up. Your first relationship failed. Your second one, well you have to sacrifice your job in Manila to be with your love one.

This is the best exmaple and argument why LDRR doesn work.

Cmon LDR believers dont delude yourself. Its either you marry now or face unexplicable pain of failure.

i am currently in a long distance relationship. 8s almost 2yrs that weve been together and half that time, we spent apart. this has made me trust him and every day i just long for that time that i'll be with him and not suffer the loneliness anymore. as my bf always sez, its better that we're undergoin the worst stage in our relationship ryt now. just lyk having the worst first, cuz theres no way for everythin to go but up ayt? and love shudnt b based on physicality. wen youre apart, try and get to know each other.. trust me, if you wanna make it work then it will work. most couples who've tried this sez it failed cuz they expect it to fail. you cant miss out on that opportunity to fall crazily in love with someone just because of your prejudice and hesitations. the best way to to know for sure is to try it. and as tyra banks sez, just work it gurl!
