by finishing their projects as soon as possible (road widening, cementing, skywalks, etc.) , by employing people (more jobs), giving more benefits to their own people (maternity, emergency, health, death, accidents, disaster (sunog, baha, etc.) .. basta lang jud makatabang sa mga taong bayan

    a) A significant percentage of every working citizen goes to tax, but there are is no significant improvement in the life of the average Filipino. Rather, we only see significant improvements in the wealth of corrupt politicians and their kin.

    b) I'll be convinced they're REALLY DOING their JOB if they...
    - make policies beneficial to all, instead of just a few already rich elite.
    - work to protect its citizens by promoting safer and healthier workplaces, a living wage, and accountability from CEOs who use their companies for greedy and nefarious purposes.
    - are open to scrutiny and expect their actions to be monitored by its citizens.
    - assist the needy, provide quality education and health care for all.
    - want a cleaner environment, promote renewable and efficient energy sources, and punish companies that pollute the environment.
    - reduce spending on programs to kill people (defense) and increase spending on programs to save people's lives (social programs).
    - vote for their constituent's needs first.
    - uphold the rule of law, and strive to protect our Constitution.
    - are democratically elected by the majority of legal voters.
(quoted from The Goals for Good Government -- BuzzFlash Perspectives)

    c) Because the drama stems from facts - that government inefficiency & corruption in a large scale is a reality. Of course that affects every citizen!

    d) I love my country and I'm happy living here. I just wish only people who truly love the Philippines are living here. Kanang mga nang-abuso lang og kanang mga wannabe-foreigners, panlayas na mo!

..i suggest the author of the thread should answer his/her own questions ...

    .. but here's mine:

    a) Why do you blame the government's 'corruption' as a cause of YOUR poverty?

.. it's not our government system that's at fault but THE PEOPLE that are seating on those positions that's not doing their jobs right. All they do is make money for themselves. selfish bastards

    b) What would you want the government to do for you para ma convince mo na The government REALLY is DOING their JOB.

.. the senators and congressmen should shut the hell up with their politics and personal agenda and focus on pressing matters at hand, there are damn lots to mention.

    c) Why do you think you are 'Directly" affected on most of the political drama (most of the filipinos are) in our country?

.. those political drama so to speak are making our so called leaders lost sight to their main reason to why they are sitting to where they are - TO SERVE THE COUNTRY AND IT'S PEOPLE. The people of this country is directly affected, not just me or you but everybody, because it's US that voted for them.

    d) Why are you not happy living in the Philippines?

.. who ever said that i'm not happy living here ( Cebu ) or philippines for that matter, my family and friends are here, there's no other reason why i shouldn't be happy. But on a political standpoint, I am not happy with the situation right now, where everybody is pointing fingers and blaming and scheming just for their own benefit.
