    @kenchi: it depends upon the kind of certification you are taking... at least 7 exams.. and there is this that they call the Core exams (could be the exams that you must take), Elective exams and the Upgrade Exams...

    no offense, but if you don't know how to research regarding MCP exam requirements on the net, i don't think you're qualified to be a "Microsoft Certified Professional".
