First you have to belong to a tribe. You can either be a Badjao, a Tausug, or a Maranao. If you like hanging out in the street, or love the adrenaline rush of combat, or want to go into the business of selling DVDs, the choice is yours.

This thread is a prime example of why there is disunity and discord in this country.

I'm a non-muslim who had the opportunity to live, learn and work in the vicinity of the Islamic City of Marawi, Lanao del Sur, in Mindanao, for over 25 years. Islam is no different than any other religion--there are good points and there are bad points as well. Muslims are people too, and thus you cannot judge the behaviour or desposition of a person simply because he/she belongs to this or that religion (stereotyping).

Again, it's easy to tell the maturity level of a person--check how he/she confronts islam/muslims. If he/she confronts them in a hostile/arrogant manner, then you know exactly what sort of mentality this kind of person has.

.. yeah, it's such a disappointment seeing people who are too ignorant or too narrow-minded. I pity those people who posted in this thread who clearly shows how simple-minded they are.

    OnT:

    1. Believe that Allah is the one true God and Mohammed is his messenger. There is no other requirement or prerequisite to become Muslim other than to believe this in your heart.

    2. Know that once you accept Allah into your heart, you repent the ways of your previous life. All your sins are erased and you start anew.

    3. Find a mosque near you and go there to learn Islam. Worship Allah outwardly by purifying yourself, praying and reciting the Holy Qur'an. Worship Allah inwardly by believing in him in your heart.

    4. Follow what Allah tells you to do and stay away from evil. Keep yourself pure. He knows what is good and bad for you.

    5. Say the Shahada as follows: "ASH-HADU ANLA ELAHA ILLA-ALLAH WA ASH-HADU ANNA MOHAMMADAN RASUL-ALLAH." You don't have to say it in public, only to yourself and believe it in your heart. In English it means, "I bear witness that there is no deity (none truly to be worshipped) but, Allah, and I bear witness that Mohammad is the messenger of Allah."

    6. Cleanse yourself with a bath and promise to comply with all Islamic principles and rules. Disown all other gods or false beliefs. Reject evil and become righteous. Pray five times a day to Allah.

OT: better move your thread to Religion & Cults
