Way back in 2002, Mr. F had accumulated 350,000 shares of Philex Mining A (pxA) at a total cost of php 90,665.62, or at about 26 centavos per share. Mr. F is an active trader. He told me that after years of trading, and if he sells all his remaining shares of px-A at last Friday price of php 2.70 per share, he would have make a profit of php 250,000.00. I congratulated him for his good doings. For years , he was able to make handsome profits. But Mr. F said that had he hold on to his position and sell all his shares now, it would be worth php 945,000.00, making him php 850,000.00 richer.

Mr. F also told me that on Feb. 05, 2002, his friend Mr. B bought 100,000 shares of px-A at 25 centavos per share. Last December, I met Mr. B in a party and he told me that he is holding on because the market is still very strong. Today, Mr. B’s original cost of php 25,000.00 four years ago is worth php 270,000.00.

who will make a handsome reward.... short & then wait for a nice re-entry point and recycle (a yield of 5%/cycle with 10X execution annualy, just like buy on rumors & sell on news scheme) or someone who will go for long with an annual yield of 20%?

Mr. Kalinaw, i don't mean to be rude but base on my previous readings, i have read that you are a successful person and the way you comment or post in this forums, pardon me but you sound like an unprofessional being. Unlike Derfdragon, who always shares a little knowledge about stock market, you always make it to a point where in you somewhat like to disagree or oppose his sharing and ideas about the market. Can you please illustrate or share something about the PSE since you are to be considered as a veteran..

And most probably i think you are not a Professional at all since in Professionalism it is one's job to be happy if somebody is successful to his work...

I wrote this in gratitude to derfdragon because i can learn some new ideas and knowledge with his threads about the PSE.

its good the stock market is reaching out to retail investors

before the stock market was called for the big boys only.....

from what i see in your portfolio

its nice you can now buy now 20, 30 shares of stocks

before its was in the hundreds or even thousands of shares.

did you do electronic trading in all of these transactions?

How do you guys get started on this stock market biz? I am amazed on the results but I just can't dip my fingers on what you guys are really talking about. Damn, makes me realize I just wasted my 20 years in school.

I'd be really happy if someone would pm me for the basics.

Thanks to all the kind words. Glad to see your portfolio grows in just a few months time. Actually ,after five consecutive sessions of decline, the phisix registered its low at 2,024.70 for the month of Dec. 2005. My studies show it is a good time for buying, and you did the right thing in choosing the right stocks.
At half a century and 10% of age, I was brought up the Confucian way. I believe the Golden Rule and a firm believer of Karma-Reap what you sow. I thank you for introducing Istorya.net , hoping by posting some informative views , I might be able to help others regarding the stock market . As to those nasty and unfriendly comments, it’s alright for me. I can handle it by myself.
We will soon be having a reunion with all the stock market enthusiasts. Hope you can attend.

Yes we are doing all the transactions thru the internet. If you are interested, visit any BPI branch and ask for more informations. RCBC and CITIBank, they also have online trading.
As to the # of shares one can buy, it all depends in the price per share. The commission they charge is 1/4 of 1%, or php45.00 which ever is higher. So one can buy stock even from as low as three to five thousand pesos. depeding on the board lot.

Its nice to see tips here in istorya.net. Im not an investor yet, Im just learning from everything I read. Hopefully Ill have experience in stock trading in a few years. The basics that I know right now are just these:

1. Buy newly issued stocks where they are at their lowest, it might be risky.. but everything in life is a risk
Of course, you must research the company first
2. Or just wait for the market to crash, then buy in when it starts to get bullish

just correct me if Im wrong I wont mind at all
