yep readyboost improves ur system performace, by using the usb flash drive as cache, but not as theoretically as RAM's operation. usb 2.0 got nice data transfer burst suitable for temp cache.

been using this for quite some time already using my SD card that I leave in my notebook. Really boosts my speed noticeably. However, the impact is different when I use 2GB or higher. Why is this so?

eboostr ako gamit karn sa old laptop, naa jud improvements... Palit nya ko usb hub ug gamiton nako ako mga wala pa nagamit na flash drives

I-google lang eboostr... trial would give you at least 4 hrs before xa ma pause. mubalik lang kung i restart nimo ang pc.
