That is not an assumption but a statement of fact. The Encyclopedia of Global Warfare and Civilization is a specialized book (recorded events in history) related to religious violence/war.
And yes, I agree that there are reasons why countries wage war against another. Many are waged for the geopolitics of it but also for religious reasons.
Religion, yes has side effects.
Godlessness = far worse effects than all religions' side effects combined together.
Side effects...?
Anger, hatred, discrimination, pestilence... all in all there is somehow moral values in "them".
