just to add to the discussion....

the Bose Acoustimass is more suited for movies, music rather than games.

For games you need that punch usually delivered by heavy hitting subs and room filling speakers like the Logitech Z5500

Its a shame they dont have the Klipsch Promedias anymore... those were quite balanced between power and clarity.

Im using M-Audio lx4 2.1 reference speakers. Compared to my logitech z560 these are less powerful but more accurate...

It depends on what you are looking for sa speakers...

imo...Bose is too expensive for the quality ur getting. Most of it is marketing hype also... There are cheaper albeit less "popular" brands.

Ive tried hooking up the pc to acoustimass 5.1 speaker system using an amp. Sound was ok but it wasnt worth the price of the setup.

Altec lansing speakers are alright but from what ive observed from their high end models (601, 60x series) lack fidelity sa mid range and highs.

Logitech has good low and mid but lack clarity and sound accuracy... more suited for games than music/movies.

btw, in a way clarity isnt always a good thing depending on what source you are listening to so dont rush out and buy reference speakers right away. Reference speaker systems dont have the boomy bass some people might be looking for in high end speakers... also, they "expose" the quality of the audio source. You can tell if the source is a 128kb or a 192kb mp3.

On the positive side... with the high quality mp3s you can hear instruments that may have been "hidden" with other speakers. Also, youll hear the source material the way the artist or recording studio wanted you to hear it... except maybe for heavy bass laden songs.

sure ka bro? its does not mean na gagmay dli na puwede....ang bose gani sa akong brother kay mas dako pa og subwoofer kaysa speaker...kusog man gani kaayo dli pa jud basag.....tan-awa ang cables ana sa luyo...dagko kaayo...
