His theories on human evolution upended the scientific community in the middle of the 19th century. He theorized that humans were derived from apes. He proposed that small genetic mutations over millions of years created the human species we have today. Darwin felt that it was a “survival of the fittest”. Species that could adapt to their changing environment most effectively would survive, while the weaker genetic lines of species died off.

While this theory holds much evidence,(but not really totally) one thing popped in mind and this thing has something to do with another book,

    Genesis Chapter 1:26-31.
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth." And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food." And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.

My conclusion: Until that missing link is found, or learn the ability to bend space and time continuum I shall say “no” for now, but what I think is the more appropriate statement to answer the query is “I’m kinda caught in the middle of science and religion”. Why? I have read enough pages of a holy book, given enough time to remember something about what has been written on Genesis.. I believe that God is the creator and made Adam and Eve as our first early ancestor. But as I go through life, be more educated with the world, I have realized that there is this possibility that man is related with apes and that scientists do have a point. Did we just evolve from a certain species? Or did someone powerful created us in his likeness? I think everybody can relate to this. And yes indeed, I’m still doubtful about my true origin. I’m still torn between 2 opposing fields in a battle.

Well the missing link was found.

First, LUCY- Australopithecus afarensis-A.L. 288-1 "Lucy" was discovered by Donald Johanson in 1974 in Ethiopia. Dated at 3.2 million years, Lucy has been considered the first human. This is now being challenged by the discovery of Kenyanthropus, described in 2001 by Leaky. This reconstruction is based on the latest scientific data including photos, descriptions and casts of original bones.

    The other one was
the discovery of Kenyanthropus, described in 2001 by Leaky.

I will give you 5 points!

The bible is not considered as scientific literature, however!

Yes GOD created man in his own image and likeness but did GOD create man as he was that you see him or her now or did God create man from the lowest form and then evolved into HOMO SAPIENS?

Is there such thing as good and bad genes that could influence man's behavior? Why and why not?

Hi sir. ala pa nmu na check ni, (this is found n page 66) hehe.

.My very, very late answer to this: (my apologies sir, krn pko nka read sa question through the past posts..)

.To find the connection between Genes, Culture and Gender to that of Social Influence we must first know that Social Influence is defined (for me) as the factors and aspects affecting a person's behavior, the cause of his/her attitudes and an important aspect of the development of a living being.
Genes- or heredity, according to my psyc1 and psyc11 teacher, i think we inherit 50% of our attitudes to our parents. It is because of our genes nga naa tay kinda inborn nga capabilities and skills that is not the same with other people. Chances are great sad that we act like our parents, we speak lyk our parents, we think like our parents, because as we all know, first social contact na2 and our inner circle is our home/the family/parents.
Gender- and the roles that society attaches to us as being male/female. Under sa social influence pd ni xa because "I do and act kng unsa ang dpat bh2n sa usa ka female, if female sd ko. I go with the same being, I follow what girls do, because of the fact that I am a girl and this is what the society has attached to us being a girl." There are certain things girls do that boys can't. there are certain things that boys can do, that girls can't.
Culture- As social beings, we are part of a group,a certain culture that defines us. In every country, culture is different. Our culture is a mindset that we developed during childhood socialization. This is under social influence because as we all know the common, nature and nurture affects our growth. Culture is linked with nurture/environment. Lahi2x ang practices, values and norms practiced in every culture..

    bout evolutionary psychology..

First thing, I shall state something about evolutionary psychology.. To fully understand, evolutionary psychology is defined as a field that
attempts to explain psychological traits—such as memory, perception, or language—as adaptations, that is, as the functional products of natural selection or sexual selection. Adaptationist thinking about physiological mechanisms, such as the heart, lungs, and immune system, is common in evolutionary biology. Evolutionary psychology applies the same thinking to psychology.
Evolutionary psychologists argue that much of human behavior is generated by psychological adaptations that evolved to solve recurrent problems in human ancestral environments. They hypothesize, for example, that humans have inherited special mental capacities for acquiring language, making it nearly automatic, while inheriting no capacity specifically for reading and writing. Other adaptations, according to EP, might include the abilities to infer others' emotions, to discern kin from non-kin, to identify and prefer healthier mates, to cooperate with others, and so on. Consistent with the theory of natural selection, evolutionary psychology sees organisms as often in conflict with others of their species, including mates and relatives. For example, mother mammals and their young offspring sometimes struggle over weaning, which benefits the mother more than the child. Humans, however, have a marked capacity for cooperation under certain conditions as well.
Evolutionary Psychology is essential to the study of human behavior because to be able to fully understand kung unsa jud ta, we must first look back and examine our history, how we evolved or mutated. We must first examine our ancestors and know them. To be fully aware of our capabilities as humans, we must trace back to the core/ root of it all. The root of our existence and evolution always go together. Evolutionary psychology is just like a trip-to-our-past to meet-our-ancestors-nga-last-man-standing-atong-pnahona that strived and survived for us to exist now.
