Before answering that questions let's discuss by what do we mean by genes.
A gene is the basic unit of heredity in a living organism. All living things depend on genes. Genes hold the information to build and maintain their cells and pass genetic traits to offspring.
- from Wikipedie/Genes.
We have also learned from zoology class on how these genetic information is passed through from one parent to child through the different forms of cell divisions.(MITOSIS or MEIOSIS). Thus because of this genes and the concept of hereditary that the famous controversy of NATURE versus NURTURE arises from. How much of NATURE ( genes) does influence once trait, attitude, behavior and personality. With this in mind and coming from the NATURE perspective I give you my answer.
Yes there is such thing as a bad genes in the senses when we call it bad cause it attributes negative behavior from the standpoint of morality. There have been many supporting evidences that showed that these negative genes have been passed on such as greed, lust, anger and other such negative attributes. But it is not evident in all that these trait are supposed to be passed on? Is it fatalistic to think that since my parent is a lusty person, I would eventually be lusty and passed it on to my future descendants as being lusty? No that's why the Nature Vs Nurture principle comes into play.
Looking back into Zoo class, we have learned that there is such thing as a dominant gene and recessive gene. It might that we can attribute to nature that these dominant "bad" gene can attribute to saying that NATURE has 50% influence on a person, and the other half by NURTURE ( such as intervention, parenting styles, attachment and such). So if ever these dominant "bad" genes are fully developed or more prominent in the person thus can provide more evidence that bad genes do exist. and if bad genes do exist so does the other side of the coin, good genes do exist.

sir mo.answer na pud ko sa question nah, "do you believe that we came from apes?"(something like that ang question)
No. dili ko motuo ana kay if we really came from apes, is there another possibility nah mo.evolve napud tah? what i mean is, dba sa mga findings, nasulti man sa mga researchers nah from a 4-legged walker(hehe..senxa sa term)kay nahimo na man ni xang bipedal ang atong ancestors. also ang changes sa size sa brain. if thats really true, nah ni.evolve jud tah from apes, is it also possible nah mo.evolve gihapon tah. like, if we came from apes, and then became man, possible bah nah mabalik na pud tah sa atong ape-like characteristics?.. bitaw sir, wild kaayo akong imagination. medyo O.T. ni xa sir, kita man gud ko ug movie sa.una. title kay the time machine if i remembered it right. ang bida man gd ngadto sir kay naka.travel through time and then naabot xa sa super layo na future. and then gipakita ngadto nah ang apes kay mokaon nah ug tawo.(mao man tingale to.?) bsta, na.under nah ang mga tawo sa apes. nabali na ang world ato. hehe..
also, because of the findings nah nakuha sa mga researchers nga ma.prove lageh nah we came from apes, the large gap between humans and apes are being ignored nah.
Ok very nice answer and yes I would agree that NATURE and NURTURE are two great factors that would result to good and not so good behavior! There is no such thing as absolute good and bad genes because this will be compensated on how children or people are nurtured in their specific social environment!
You get 20 points! Thanks for being the number 1 to answer this question.![]()

Many theories have been presented to us at hand, each having evidences and supporting ideas.. One of the greatest theorists was Charles Darwin. His theories on human evolution upended the scientific community in the middle of the 19th century. He theorized that humans were derived from apes. He proposed that small genetic mutations over millions of years created the human species we have today. Darwin felt that it was a “survival of the fittest”. Species that could adapt to their changing environment most effectively would survive, while the weaker genetic lines of species died off.
While this theory holds much evidence,(but not really totally) one thing popped in mind and this thing has something to do with another book,
Genesis Chapter 1:26-31.
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth." And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food." And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.
My conclusion: Until that missing link is found, or learn the ability to bend space and time continuum I shall say “no” for now, but what I think is the more appropriate statement to answer the query is “I’m kinda caught in the middle of science and religion”. Why? I have read enough pages of a holy book, given enough time to remember something about what has been written on Genesis.. I believe that God is the creator and made Adam and Eve as our first early ancestor. But as I go through life, be more educated with the world, I have realized that there is this possibility that man is related with apes and that scientists do have a point. Did we just evolve from a certain species? Or did someone powerful created us in his likeness? I think everybody can relate to this. And yes indeed, I’m still doubtful about my true origin. I’m still torn between 2 opposing fields in a battle.

Why not? We are still evolving as it should. Although it has never been proven that man man came from apes and there is a great possibility that we do come from apes too. What is PROVEN is that we have COMMON ANCESTORS...all of us!
ok I will give you 10 points for your honest answer!![]()
