red mobile (formerly uMobile) is a virtual service provider. it uses the backbone of smart communications. provides 2G (GSM) and 3G/3.5G (UMTS and HSDPA) mobile services.

all operators operate currently deploy the GSM 900/1800 networks and the UMTS(3G)/HSDPA(3.5G) networks. although i heard from sources that smart is starting to roll out HSUPA (high speed uplink packet access) which is the uplink part of the HSPA standard. kinahanglan duha na para matawag nga HSPA.

innove communications (formerly islacom) - GSM 900 <-- subsidiary of globe

there is a new or not so new prepaid-based network operator named Red Mobile (formerly uMobile) that rides on the backbone of smart communications.
