How many of you have read the book "The Phenomenon of Man" by: Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin? A Jesuit priest and Paleontologist.

In his book The Phenomenon of Man he talks about pre-life, life, the Alpha Point, the Omega Point, and so on. According to him the pre-life is what we call matter. In calling it ‘pre-life’, he wants to imply that there is already a direction, a tendency, an obscure sort of will in matter.

He distinguishes three things in matter: plurality, by virtue of which the substratum of the tangible Universe, dizzily numerous and minute, slopes down towards a limitless base, disintegrating as it goes. Secondly Unity, which pushes the elements towards each other so as to comprehend them together in one great whole, the Universe. And finally Energy, or capacity for interaction. The immediate consequence of this is that the world forms ‘a system by its plurality, a Totum by its energy’.
What is new here is that we can see matter under the twin categories of duration and of evolution, instead of fixity and geometry. The whole universe in fact, is found to be engaged in an immense evolution, to which astronomy claims to be able to assign an initial date – between five billion five hundred million and eight billion five hundred million. Teilhard recalls at this point that two principal laws rule matter – that of the conservation of energy and that of the degradation of energy. The more the quantum of energy in the world functions, the more it gets used up. This is the fundamental phenomenon of the world which necessarily leads to the “Phenomenon of Man”.

"To be fully ourselves it is in the opposite direction, in the direction of convergence with all the rest, that we must advance--towards the 'other.' The peak of ourselves, the acme of our originality, is not our individuality but our person; and according to the evolutionary structure of the world, we can only find our person by uniting together. There is no mind without synthesis. The same holds good from top to bottom. The true ego grows in inverse proportion to 'egoism.' Like the Omega which attracts it, the element only becomes personal when it universalises itself." (The Phenomenon of Man, 1955. p. 263)

based on what i've understand, we have to learn to see and reach for others.that our true person is not only compose of us but also with the influences coming from other people that surrounds us. like the concept of pakikisama, we tend to be with others to complete our person as a part of the group not only as individuals.

Genes is under social influence because as we all know it is the basic unit of heredity in a living organism. Our genes determines our traits and personality. It influence people in a way that if we our parents have this kind of traits (being perfectionist) then you as their son/daughter will inherit the characteristics they had because their genetic traits were pass into us. It also change a person's thought, beliefs, behaviors etc.
Culture plays an important role in individual's attitude and beliefs through its norm and standards and we are aware that our culture is very influential in our life. It is under social influence in a way that for example if our culture emphasize collectivism over individualism....then we as a person whose under the influence of our culture will act and give priority to the goals of one's culture and construct identity in relations to other. Like example we Filipinos are so close to our family for our culture teaches us to be that way..to be interdependent to ones relative, while Americans so liberated because their culture say so that they must stand on their own feet and be independent.
Lastly, Gender is the differences bet. male and female and it is under social influence in such a way that our gender determine our behavior as a person. Our gender role is the behavioral norms that society perceive bet, male and female particularly on how they should behave and act. For example if you are born as a girl, generally you should not behave as boys do.

I do not agree that much in your last statement that if you are born as a girl, generally you should not behave as boys do. I can behave like a girl and it doesn't make me anything less or inferior or worse it doesn't make me a gay because what a girl can do, I can also do it and vice versa! The only thing that man cannot do is to bear a child and you could just imagine if my stomach grows and suffer the pangs of childbirth! hehehe

Well, 10 points for you anyway!
