Social influence occurs when an individual's thoughts or actions are affected by other people. Social influence takes many forms and can be seen in conformity, socialization, peer pressure, obedience, leadership, persuasion, sales, and marketing. Harvard psychologist, Herbert Kelman identified three broad varieties of social influence.

1. Compliance is when people appear to agree with others, but actually keep their dissenting opinions private.
2. Identificationis when people are influenced by someone who is liked and respected, such as a famous celebrity or a favorite uncle.
3. Internalizationis when people accept a belief or behavior and agree both publicly and privately.

What I learned about myself regarding this topic is on how my behavior is shaped by this perspective:

The explanation on why I live in order to reproduce and to pass my characteristic for the next generation.
I learned why i have older people with me in which they are the ones who improves my being as an individual. Evolution explains why i adapted a certain characteristic for immediate circumstances, for instance in order for me to learn about my current environment I should have an aspect of time-management in studying as a preparation and foundation for my early adulthood.
