CEBU CHAMBER SINGERS(CCS)
The Cebu Chamber Singers (CCS) is a dynamic local group composed of music enthusiasts from different parish, school and community choirs. Its members, therefore, have experience in choral music. As chamber singers, the choir aims to make Cebu known for its choral music.
Its very first major achievement beyond the local scene was winning two golds in the Asian Choir Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 10, 2007. Besting all other gold awardees, the Cebu Chamber Singers was proclaimed the “Winner of the Asian Open,” for the Gospel & Spiritual, and the Mixed Chamber Choir categories. The Asian Choir Games was organized by Interkultur Foundation.
In November 2008, the Cebu Chamber Singers once again proved its musical excellence by winning Gold (in the Mixed Classic Category) and Bronze (in the Ethnic/Folklore Category) during the 2008 Busan (South Korea) International Choral Festival and Competition. In the Mixed Classic Category, it bested choirs representing the University of the Philippines and Utah University among other contenders from around the globe.
In the local scene, the group consistently delights and inspires its audiences with its wide range of repertoire and its excellent musicality as a group with, talented and dedicated members who come from the different cities and universities of Cebu.
