That would be one of the problem if a public official uses a private owned jet. Para nako if the purchase is just above board wala'y overpricing and is in good quality where future presidents can benefit from it why not.

First of all, I did not say it was stripped of political or socio-economic "order". I said "color". In other words, I am not siding with or going against PGMA but looking at the issue apart from background noise, such as the brouhaha about excessive presidential spending.

Ok, so it's political "color", not political "order". But it remains the same, the Office of the President now represents PGMA. Whatever it does now, it is by her and for her. They are just obliged to turn over the assets bought about by public funds to the next president. I just find it odd that they find it necessary to do purchases for her successor, not knowing who that person might even be.

There may be countries that have presidential jets and view using a private individual's air assets as "conflict of interest". But that's a "private individual". I doubt that chartering a plane from a commercial airline and paying for it is in any way a conflict of any interests. Also, there are many heads of state that charter the planes of their national flag carrier. It's common practice. Why should the Philippines be any different? And why don't we change that culture of being "indebted"? If you paid fair price for whatever you got, no one owes anything to anyone. I doubt that PGMA is "indebted" to the Waldorf-Astoria for staying and paying for her stay there. Why would chartering a plane be any different? Not to mention there are other heads of state who do the same?

Husto na lagi ning because the President of the USA has Air Force One, we should also have one... What? Mo ingon si PGMA nga ma-ikog ko ni Lucio Tan kay nag charter ra ba ko ug plane niya? ... Millions ra man akong gibayad... Sige, mag contract ta ug millions pud nga project para iyaha kay naka gamit ra ba ko sa PAL... Na-unsa man tawon ni... Sorry ha, pero murag baga ra man iyahang nawong para ingon ana nga sentiment... wa man gani ma uwaw ni si PGMA nga gibangkahan siya ug $20,000 dinner sa iyahang subordinate for her wedding anniversary, ma-ikog na hinuon siya nga gibayaran na using taxpayer's money iyahang flight.

A good reliable but surplus jet would be enough considering our present economic condition, ma-daug ra na pag-ayos og pintal, maayo sad ta na mechanic..

Wala man unta na problema as long naa sa PROTOCOL ang PURCHASE since all these are NEEDS instead of WANTS . Now if ma prove na kini siya WANTS then there is something wrong and needs to be investigated .

Sama ra na sa US , the Obama has the AIRFORCE 1 and the MARINE 1 . As long as these machines / technology are for BUSINESS PURPOSES then there should be no problem at all .
